Will 2.1 work as a patch to the current installation of 2.0 or would I have to re-install Fallout 2 and the RP from scratch?
2.1 will only arrive as a full install - no separate patch. Many important changes are being made to the installer/installation process that required me to do this.

However, 2.1 saves will work just fine and installing the 2.1 installer right on top of 2.0 will be just fine. No need to reinstall everything. Of course, backing up your save games and reinstalling everything is always the *best* thing to do. It isn't required though.

@Generic Dude 2.0
Odd problem. All I can say is that saving in combat is never a good idea. Maybe Timeslip/others can lend a hand here.

@everyone
I'm pretty busy in RL this week, so I won't be posting much. If you know an answer to a question posted, please lend a hand and leave a reply.

Out of curiosity Killap, any clue as to what the problem I am experiencing is/was? Have you had a chance to look at it? Do you need more information?

Okay, I installed full .2d, then the combat overhaul, then .2e, then I heard that the combat overhaul isn't compatible with hte current versions. Uhm.. What do I do NOW in order to get things to work well together, and, ideally, have SOMEWHAT better combat than default, and no weird combat bugs or incompatibility?

Whoa, sorry. Totally lost track of your post. Save game worked just fine for me. Not really sure what is wrong. Have you tried reinstalling F2, installing the latest installer from my sig, then applying the 2.0.2e patch?

@killap
No problem, pretty much the only thing I posted so far that I'd really like a response to was the question of what changes were made to the file "ncprosti.msg" (if a changelog was maintained).

I very much share your goal of having a completely bug-free Fallout 2/FO2 RP, so since everyone's time is limited I'd much rather you spent your time squashing bugs than responding to my buglist posts.

Some bugs:
_ Modoc: After telling Cornelius that Farrel was the theft, Cornnelius went over to Farrel's house but they didn't fight, just stand there. Also when pointing at Cornelius at this time, it showed rug description instead, Farrel was fine.

_ SAD: My grenade unjammed a jammed electronic door. Not sure if it's supposed like that.

_ New Reno: The eastern exit grid at East side is missing (2.0.2e).

_ I notice that there are a lot of stuffs and -->rocks<-- lying around in vanilla FO2 map, but none in the new map. It'd would be nicer if some are added.

will RP 2 save files work OK with your soon to be released 2.1 update?
Yep! But, many of the fixes (like maps changes) won't be present unless you enter the area for the first time.

So re-entering an area will still use old maps? Even after backing up saves and re-installing vanilla game then installing RP 2.1?

Yeah I am stuck at the same place, maybe high speech (president, doctor) or science (computer controlling bomb) will help, because blowing different things with dynamite doesn't seem to work.

No.

i enhanced my character but still you cannot finish the game. the screen goes " game over " .

The bomb is not the way to beat the game. The timer on it always goes to 5 seconds and blows up everyone (including the player). You need to beat the game the normal way - release the toxin and shut down the reactor.

Killap,

First off I want to extend my thanks for making Fallout 2 the ultimate experience for us fans.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the game up to this point I just hit on my first bug and that's in the Primitive Tribe.

I am supposed to fix their well with rope and bucket. But there is no way for me to use the bucket. It has no action code, in other words, it just acts like a box of noodles, or cat's paw pamphlet << nonusable items..

Do you have a fix for this so that I can complete the quest?

It ain't broken. Try the other way of using things. You know, the backpack icon...
I agree that it should be made usable from the item slots as well though.

once vic hit is level cap of 117hp he stopped using the turbo blaster. he is not crippled or overloaded.... it baffles me.

edit: actually he has stopped using all weapons... no more knife, not even a 10mm pistol or spiked knuckls

Don't think I've seen this- If we had the pre-fix Marcus, and he joined the party before we completed his quests-

Should be able to reset him with F2SE, Maps tab, double click broken1.sav, in the middle under "Local Variables" scroll down to "hcmarcus.int", and set LVAR_8 to zero?

Or are there additional steps that should be taken?
