Any word on when 2.1 will be ready?
I've been holding off playing this mod till its release. (can't wait!)
When the beta testers are done and the bugs they found are fixed. I would guess around one more week or so. It depends on how much time everyone involved have.

I was hoping Killap would give us a more firm date.

Corpus Christi is the day we all will receive our salvation.

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, but..

I want to play FO2 with Killap's unofficial patch and some of the "extra" options from the RP installer. Namely:

NPC Appearances (this or megamod seems to be only way)
Gorris quick derobe
Remove random leveling from party members
old 14 mm / .223 sounds

The installer won't let me just pick the extras without installing the core RP content. Is there any way around this? Does anyone know how to extract these elements from the installer?

First week of June should be when 2.1 is released. June 1st, perhaps. Yeah, it isn't May like I said, sue me.

Be it 31st May or 1st June, I don't think it's that much of a difference :)

Where shall I send the subpoena?

Can't wait, about a week to go! Thanks for the confirmation.

I know the buglist is pretty long but the game is still very playable. If i hadnt started playing, id try to wait, but now that i have, man it's like im a kid again. In an age where PC games are just getting worse and worse, I quote... someone. sort of,

"Through a world of PC games i wandered, searching for Killap's RP"

When successfully critting the rat god in Klamath in the eyes he dies instantly regardless of health.

(I crit him in the eyes and deal around 16 damage and he dies) I get a message about the great rat catcher in the sky. I Think I've gotten this bug before installing RP 2.0 too, I think it ruins crits for the rest of the game but I've forgotten.

It's not a bug I think, because rats have much lower instant death roll requirements than other critters (you don't even need to have Better Criticals perk): http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/Critical_hit_tables#Rats

so even if they don't run out of health you can roll a death crit and kill them? (and this roll exists for other critters too?)

Yes, that's why choosing Better Criticals perk is a good choice - now you get about 1/5 chance that your critical hit is an instant death. It's possible to kill a full-health Enclave patrol with a .44 Desert Eagle in one shot.
Most of critters have the instant-death critical roll. You can check the wiki page for yourself.

This is not always a good thing. Where quest are concerned they won't be counted as dead until their bodies disappear from the map.
This is a problem with the wanamingos in the Redding mines and with the Rat God too iirc.

I think that applies only it is a 0-damage critical to the eyes, which can be made with, for example, a rock or a BB gun, or on enemies like the vorpal rat or the bridgekeeper with pretty much anything.

And which has long since been fixed. It's not possible to score 0 damage insta-kill criticals any more. (If you happen to roll one, it'll automagically get pushed up to 1 damage to prevent the bug.)

I thought he was talking about 0-damage crits. Oh well, I guess I was just confused.

Anyway, good to know it has been fixed. Thanks

So you want bugs fixed and don't want content that was meant there by developers but did not make it and yet you want some of the extra content Killap threw in because it makes game better?

Well I strongly recommend installing whole RP because it makes the game so much better. Remember that was content that was supposed to be there but just didn't make it. If I were you I would try manual install but consult Killap first. Don't forget to install high resolution patch since it's needed for some maps and you do not have to actually change resolution to play.

@legionarius no problem glad I helped.

Yep, you read it right. I've played FO2 a lot with and without the RP, but haven't tried Killap's newest patch yet. So in anticipation of RP 2.1, I wanted to make a pass through the vanilla game with his patch and those other additions. I also am using Pixote's new worldmap and it looks great.

I ended up finding a command line Inno Installer unpacker and unpacked the RP and extracted everything I wanted, except for the NPC appearances, and added it into my game. I believe the NPC appearances depend too much on RP content to be able to just copy over the art and npc's *.int files without other problems occurring.

I was, yet I wasn't let me explain.
When I crit the rat god for 12 out of his 50 or something health and instant killed him, it had reminded me of the 0 damage instant kill crits. (I was not aware there were instant death crits at all)

But before I ever played a modded Fallout 2 the 0 damage crits kind of ended up ruining my game, and I had thought this was the same bug.

Anyway thanks for clearing this up, I'm glad nothing is wrong
