Umm... guys? Can I get some feedback on my problem? It's kind of hard to wipe out armored gangs when you can't even use small guns. The sharpened spear will only do it for so long.

Don't give guns to bare-chested critters, they don't have proper in-game animations builded. Use some armor and then take gun. (I don't know, if this solve your problem, but try.)

Nope. I got the same error again, this time after Lara shot Marc outside the church. I had a leather jacket/sledgehammer-equipped Sulik and I was wearing leather armour and a spear. Lara was in metal armour as you already know. Weird.

EDIT
OK, I've come to the conclusion that this error only occurs after somebody's used a gun. Not all the time though, just if the right person shoots somebody at the right time. Horribly annoying.

[spoiler:a288f37beb]It´s just a proposal and maybe a bid off topic but i had posted this a few days ago at the "RP suggestion thread".
I don´t know if someone has read it...Anyway here it is

If the player had convinced Sgt. Granite and his troop to help beating up Horrigan. there could be the following dialogue to replace the awful and senseless floating text.

A window would be much better

He comes up to the player the window opens and he says: " I think we should be leaving now".

The chosen one has the option to say. "This is probably a good idea".

At last for further improvement he has also the possibility to say; "See you at the cafe of broken dreams".

Then all survivors together are leaving the oil rig. [/spoiler:a288f37beb]

[spoiler:a288f37beb]My views on this:

The chosen one and party quietly slip into the ship as Sgt. Granite's squad recovers from fighting Horrigan. Sgt. Granite notices the doors closing behind the chosen one just in time for the chosen one to say one word.

"Yoink."

...

Well, I find the concept amusing, anyway.[/spoiler:a288f37beb]

Not bad for a evil "Chosen one" but I think even for the reference and story telling my suggestion more logical...

@everyone
I may just release 2.1 next week, even if I don't get the fix I wanted in. The issue at hand is having the quest log properly scroll for more quests than can fit on one page. The current implementation in sfall has a bug that is being looked into. We'll see what happens.

Since this sounds like a minor bug on an optional feature of the game, then I would prefer a release now and fix later. Even if that means we cannot use that feature (at all) until it is fixed. The other fixes performed in 2.1 easily outweigh the quest log. (my 2 cents - ignore at will).

I am looking forward to seeing what you have managed since I last tried this (a long long time ago in a virtual galaxy not-so-far away). I admire your dedication to a single project over such a long period!

Cheers!

Actually, both suggestions are excellent, first one for good characters and second for bad characters.

Well, it really isn't an optional feature - it was a bug fix that was included with sfall. The problem is that San Fran and New Reno have too many quests to fit on one page. I've already had reports of people confused where the quests were on the log, as the scroll feature wasn't working as it should. I even got the log to crash for me, so I don't really want to leave it in this state.

You'll be quite pleased then. The 2.x line has undergone signifcant changes and much for the better.

Thanks. I'm actually surprised how long I've gone with this single project. I'm a pretty dedicated guy when it comes to a task and it clearly shows here. :P

@everyone
Let's try and cut back on the quote pyramid, please. No need to quote everyone when you make a post.

Do I have to play vanilla or what? It's IMPOSSIBLE to finish/get anywhere in the game without SOMEBODY shooting!

Again: http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/9611/fallouterror.jpg

Also, if the error is NOT mod-related, I'd like to know instead of being ignored. That way I can bother some other people about it.

Sorry for coming off as hostile, but I am kind of frustrated by now.
You need to provide more information.
1- What exact steps lead up to the crash?
2- Are you using the RP? What version? Which language?
3- What optional installation choices did you pick if you used the RP installer?
4- Also post a saved game just before the crash if you can.

Found a bug!

If you look (use binoculars) at one of the village guys while they're killing the spammers the game crash.

I've already provided much of that information, but here's all I know:

The crash occurs randomly after somebody fires a gun. I am using the latest version of the RP with the latest patch, in English. I installed all of the optional mods except for the missing children, the bullet sounds and the quick Goris de-robing.

Naturally, since the crash occurs randomly I cannot give you guys a savegame. This is all the info I am able to conjure up. I'm assuming that killap's the only guy who could possibly pinpoint my problem if it's even mod-related. The probability of which I'm having doubts about.

Maybe this is the problem - install only clean Fallout + Restoration project. Then you may add latest RP update 2.0.2e, if you have older version of RP 2.0, but no patches. (it's mentioned in killap's "readme" file and also in previous posts in this thread)

Nope. When I said "the latest patch" what I really meant was the 2.0.2e update. Hehe, silly me.

@Raakiszh Siraahtze

I'm sorry, I don't always have the time to answer everyone. I have to rely on others to lend a hand these days.

Random bugs are something I really cannot help with. valcik makes a good suggestion though. Unless, when you say patch you are talking about the "e" patch for the RP.

It's interesting you say the crash occurs when someone fires a gun. I've heard reports of this before and they were the result of an issue with the pistol sound extra way back with 1.0/1.1. Did you ever install the 1.x RP line?

My suggestion for odd problems is always to do a clean (humongous) install of the game and then installing just the RP, nothing else. You can also try to install the pistol extra and see if you are still getting these random crashes.

Thanks, killap. I'll try reinstalling and all.
I don't think I've ever played the 1.x version of the RP on this computer, though. Looking forward to the next update, and props for being such an awesome contributor to this community! Your patch really saved my ass back in the day.

@ Raakiszh Siraahtze,

Are you saving while you are in combat? If so, then don't. I'm pretty sure it increases the likelihood of these types of crashes.

Also are the crashes specific to any one type of gun or can it be any small arm?

I can't remember if I ever did save during combat, and I haven't seen any laser/big guns yet (new game). The problem's gone now, though.

I reluctantly have to announce that I found two more bugs. They may have been reported before but:

After exiting the cave in the Primitive Tribe, the left part of the screen goes black and you can't move the screen to the right, making it impossible to get out of there.

AND (Much more important bug): After smooth-talking my way into getting the keys to the slave pen in the Slaver's Camp, I'm unable to get in! I can unlock/lock the door just fine, but if I try to open the unlocked door I just get the "Touch that again and you're dead"-line. If I try it again I find out he wasn't kidding.

So yeah, trying to finish the game diplomat-style (kinda) for the first (?) time.

Are you using the high res patch?

Please upload a save game somewhere for me to test.
