First time out of the vault
Umm... guys? Can I get some feedback on my problem? It's kind of hard to wipe out armored gangs when you can't even use small guns. The sharpened spear will only do it for so long.
Don't give guns to bare-chested critters, they don't have proper in-game animations builded. Use some armor and then take gun. (I don't know, if this solve your problem, but try.)Raakiszh Siraahtze said:It's kind of hard to wipe out armored gangs when you can't even use small guns. [spoiler:a288f37beb]It´s just a proposal and maybe a bid off topic but i had posted this a few days ago at the "RP suggestion thread".
I don´t know if someone has read it...Anyway here it is
If the player had convinced Sgt. Granite and his troop to help beating up Horrigan. there could be the following dialogue to replace the awful and senseless floating text.
A window would be much better
He comes up to the player the window opens and he says: " I think we should be leaving now".
The chosen one has the option to say. "This is probably a good idea".
At last for further improvement he has also the possibility to say; "See you at the cafe of broken dreams".
Then all survivors together are leaving the oil rig. [/spoiler:a288f37beb]
[spoiler:a288f37beb]My views on this:
The chosen one and party quietly slip into the ship as Sgt. Granite's squad recovers from fighting Horrigan. Sgt. Granite notices the doors closing behind the chosen one just in time for the chosen one to say one word.
"Yoink."
...
Well, I find the concept amusing, anyway.[/spoiler:a288f37beb]
Not bad for a evil "Chosen one" but I think even for the reference and story telling my suggestion more logical...

I may just release 2.1 next week, even if I don't get the fix I wanted in. The issue at hand is having the quest log properly scroll for more quests than can fit on one page. The current implementation in sfall has a bug that is being looked into. We'll see what happens.
Since this sounds like a minor bug on an optional feature of the game, then I would prefer a release now and fix later. Even if that means we cannot use that feature (at all) until it is fixed. The other fixes performed in 2.1 easily outweigh the quest log. (my 2 cents - ignore at will).
I am looking forward to seeing what you have managed since I last tried this (a long long time ago in a virtual galaxy not-so-far away). I admire your dedication to a single project over such a long period!
Cheers!

Actually, both suggestions are excellent, first one for good characters and second for bad characters.
Well, it really isn't an optional feature - it was a bug fix that was included with sfall. The problem is that San Fran and New Reno have too many quests to fit on one page. I've already had reports of people confused where the quests were on the log, as the scroll feature wasn't working as it should. I even got the log to crash for me, so I don't really want to leave it in this state.FourAces said:Since this sounds like a minor bug on an optional feature of the game, then I would prefer a release now and fix later. You'll be quite pleased then. The 2.x line has undergone signifcant changes and much for the better.FourAces said:I am looking forward to seeing what you have managed since I last tried this (a long long time ago in a virtual galaxy not-so-far away).
Thanks. I'm actually surprised how long I've gone with this single project. I'm a pretty dedicated guy when it comes to a task and it clearly shows here.FourAces said:I admire your dedication to a single project over such a long period!
You need to provide more information.Raakiszh Siraahtze said:Do I have to play vanilla or what? It's IMPOSSIBLE to finish/get anywhere in the game without SOMEBODY shooting!

Also, if the error is NOT mod-related, I'd like to know instead of being ignored. That way I can bother some other people about it.
Sorry for coming off as hostile, but I am kind of frustrated by now.

1- What exact steps lead up to the crash?
2- Are you using the RP? What version? Which language?
3- What optional installation choices did you pick if you used the RP installer?
4- Also post a saved game just before the crash if you can.
Maybe this is the problem - install only clean Fallout + Restoration project. Then you may add latest RP update 2.0.2e, if you have older version of RP 2.0, but no patches. (it's mentioned in killap's "readme" file and also in previous posts in this thread)Raakiszh Siraahtze said:.. I am using the latest version of the RP with the latest patch, in English.

Darek said:@ Raakiszh Siraahtze,
Are you saving while you are in combat? If so, then don't. I'm pretty sure it increases the likelihood of these types of crashes.
Also are the crashes specific to any one type of gun or can it be any small arm?
Are you using the high res patch?Raakiszh Siraahtze said:After exiting the cave in the Primitive Tribe, the left part of the screen goes black and you can't move the screen to the right, making it impossible to get out of there.
Please upload a save game somewhere for me to test.Raakiszh Siraahtze said:AND (Much more important bug): After smooth-talking my way into getting the keys to the slave pen in the Slaver's Camp, I'm unable to get in! I can unlock/lock the door just fine, but if I try to open the unlocked door I just get the "Touch that again and you're dead"-line. If I try it again I find out he wasn't kidding.
