Nothing like a good ol' cup o' joe and some spoilers to start up your day. GameVideos offers footage of all endings of Fallout 3, that is...all 4 endings, for people still confused about the "200+ endings" thing, the main plot offers one of 4 endings (still more than the originals) before moving into the clips.

Here they are for those who finished and would like to see the alternatives, or for those of you not afraid of spoilers: good, coward, bad and corrupt.

Without spoilering: boy are the endings terribad.

And the ending script for Perlman isn't really very well written. Seriously, guys?

[spoiler:e1cd7ae3e1]"learned the true meaning of that greatest of virtues: sacrifice"? He even says this when you choose to help the Enclave instead of saving everyone

"but the child refused to follow the father's selfless example, instead allowing a true hero to venture into the irradiated control chamber"?

And the "bad" ending honestly doesn't make any sense.

The ending dialogue with Lyons is some of the worst ever, in voice acting and script.[/spoiler:e1cd7ae3e1]

How do we get to affect the endings? It's something like Deus Ex where at the very ending you choose what you want or is something like The Witcher where the choices are in the beginning/middle of the game and you get to play different games accordingly?

Both.

Basically there's an ending sequence where you make one of the four choices named above.

In these videos, it then plays a three-part-sequence: a Ron Perlman narrative with stills showing: what you did during gameplay, what choice you made at the end, and the ending bit (which seems to be more or less the same every time). I assume there's also location slides.

How were they thinking were 200+ endings?

My Lord, that voice acting is absolutely reprehensible. Who wants to hear someone squeal in a life or death situation.

It really makes me want to cry.

[spoiler:512677c81a]Lyons sounds awfully nonchalant for someone going to their death/sending someone else to their death. Still, it could be worse.

Do you have to work with the BoS?[/spoiler:512677c81a]

I sometimes wonder if we have done some act of inexpressible evil in the past that we are punished like this.

[spoiler:b4e8a6e152]And apparently my suspicion was right, the player is killed by radiation[/spoiler:b4e8a6e152]

Ten years, we have waited for ten years for this, and during it saw the best promise for a Fallout 3 die; Van Buren.

"Maybe you'll think of me when you are all alone
Maybe the one who is waiting for you
Will prove untrue, then what will you do?

this sentence isn't making a whole lot of sense to me.

[spoiler:92d40cc15a]Yes, Lyons does sound nonchalant, and in fact, she doesn't even flinch when you go "no, you go ahead and die". What a convincingly written character huh?

And yes, the plot is linear, and one of the linear bits is having to work with the BoS[/spoiler:92d40cc15a]

This is where the music of the original games work really well. All that 'epic' music just makes it sound like someone keeps pushing 'start' and 'end'.

edit: By the way, not sure if those slides are the full ending. If they are, they're pretty vague compared to F1/2 where you get to know exactly the little details of the consequences of your actions.

What kind of a shit is that?
[spoiler:171be67674]
Ron Perlman doesn't even sound like himself, and different from the previous Fallouts. Like he was narrating a fairy tales video game, probably because the writing was dump. Where is that gloomy and dark narrating we had in previous Fallouts??

The music doesn't add up. Orchestra? It's like watching a movie.

And for that blond chick (whatever her name is), she's hot but her acting is wrong.
"Bitch! We're talking about going there and never come back!! I'm gonna die!!"
and she would be like "Well yeah, one day we're gonna die anyway."

The dialog sounds like it's been written in an hour.[/spoiler:171be67674]

Let's see 4 endings, that range between 2:30-3:41, yet most of the dialog is repeated in each, giving roughly 30 seconds of new material in each.

Awesome "different" endings.

Heh heh, it couldn't have gone like this, could it?

Several Hours before the Gold version of FO3 is suppose to go out for mass production, we find Emil in the Bethesda cafeteria holding a large submarine sandwich

Emil "Hmmm, big sandwich, so luscious and juicy."

Todd comes running in "Emil, we need endings for Fallout 3, and we need them post haste, the gold copy is about to go out and we have only enough budget for so many more lines from the voice actors."

Emil "Yeah yeah, I will work on it. But first; lunch!"

Yeah, that's what I've noticed. Only few, small parts of dialog is different.

well[spoiler:1a063a2bec]the constant stop start as it chops between bits relating to if you die of not / go corrupt or not is very annoying and the content of the endings is very 'same'[/spoiler:1a063a2bec]

so yeah +30 secs (or as I noted in one ending -30~60 secs) of footage doesn't make for great variation, or satisfaction that they even 'feel' different.

[spoiler:795b8fd481]I can't believe they actually used Lyon's radiation death... seriously, people went powerarmored into the Glow and were perfectly fucking fine until their armor was damaged (and are out of meds).

WEAR A FUCKING HELMET, BITCH![/spoiler:795b8fd481]

[spoiler:3df49f5369]Hah. Yeah. I remember telling you guys about how ridiculous it was having her stroll around the super radioactive place without a helmet[/spoiler:3df49f5369]

[spoiler:ecbe6926ab]She wants to fully immerse herself with the wonderful world around her.[/spoiler:ecbe6926ab]
