Fallout 3 pirated, videos spread

You have got to be kidding? Blizzard?

You've been out in the desert sun too much

I "said" its unlikely, and no its pretty cloudy here.

but, isn't the irony great? for the past week most of the gaming community were saying "lets give this game a chance, the videos look nice." but now its boosted with negativeness.

I think it's kind of funny that it got pirated for the Xbox 360, then again I'm not sure how many of those pirating (actually downloading from the internet) are from the US. As I understand it for consoles you need to modify the actual hardware to be able to pirate and frankly I can't imagine a lot of people doing that especially since you can't just go into a store for the most part and have it done. So in the end I doubt this'll hurt BS too bad except for negative word of mouth or gameplay footage.

In case anyone missed it (and I can't find anyone posting about it) look at the player's stats. Now watch the part where he speaks to the sheriff and notice the sheriff's reaction isn't the generic "SCREW UP AND I'LL FUCK A NINJA."

What's this? The fear that attributes won't affect dialog has been alleviated? PREPOSTEROUS!

Wow, this looks like a mod for oblivion.

Can't believe that people think this is great, i guess there is no cure for st....

maybe they should rename it to "The Elder Scrolls : A post apocalypse Oblivion Role Playing game?"

You can change all your stats while leaving the Vault, so you can always load the save from the end of the tutorial when starting a new game.

Ahaha, what's the point of the beginning part then? And wouldn't it have been easier to make it skippable?
Leave it to Bethesda if you want stupid design; they never fail to deliver.

I would imagine that the information gleamed from the leak will have a bigger impact than the piracy itself.

Yeah. And now they have a reason to blame anything on piracy. Low sales? Piracy! Bad press afterwards? Piracy! People don't like it? Piracy!

Hmmm, perhaps it is to introduce the main characters, the plot, the background behind the Vault, and detail the life of living in a vault.

Nah, can't be dumb design shit game lolololol

The slow motion pause whenever he used vats really does get annoying. The first couple of times it was cool but after that it just becomes repetitive and boring. It would have been better if only the last person in the fight had a slow motion animation or only if it would slow mo if you killed someone.

but, what makes me wonder is why the reporters who played the game wrote so good about the game.

couldn't they see these problems? what were they Oblivion nerds or something?

It could be that they actually enjoyed playing the game and the flaws weren't enough to detract from said enjoyment.

I know this seems like a difficult concept but...

I love the slow motion skating show. Every time the security guard get's a baton to the face, he slides a few meters back

No shit, Sherlock. Why isn't it skippable, though, if you can change your characteristics right at the end of it?

How big is that vault? Has the technology progressed far enough to allow to create full-scale vault?

Yay! I'm so excited!

I was one of the generally positive "let's wait and see" crowds, later believing that it'd be a crap fallout game, but a decent (non fallout) game.

Now it sounds like we're getting oblivion 1.5? Yippee.

Hmm, you know I will be honest, I wonder if your first companion could have been amata if he hadn't killed her father. I also wonder if that could have grown to be a love interest. However, I don't know if bethesda even put in romantic relationships or even thought of having strong character bonds.

For the same reason you can't skip the opening tunnel in Fallout 1 or the temple in Fallout 2; it's part of the plot.

Seriously, what would you hate more:

1: Creating a character after pressing NEW GAME then being forced through the intro knowing that whenever you wanted to create a new character you'd have to replay the intro

OR

2: Creating a character during the intro then fine tuning him at the end so if you want to play a fresh character you can without going through all the plot important bullshit you've seen before yet still starting out fresh.

I can't believe giving the player the option to SKIP the intro when he wants to make a new character is an actual complaint!

I think you misunderstood what people are complaining about.

"The Temple of Trials was a bad decision" is not just the consensus amongst fans, most Fallout developers agree as well.

In fact, JE Sawyer was not going to include an obligatory tutorial in Van Buren because he thought the concept was stupid. The Van Buren demo was have was the basic version of what would later be the tutorial playthrough, which is fully optional and separate from the game.

Everyone hated the Temple of Trials in Fallout 2. Most people agree the sewers in Oblivion suck tits. If you make a tutorial area, you need to make it skippable. The fact that the player can save right before the end of the tutorial in Oblivion and Fallout 3 and then edit his character before going out is a plus (though I do wonder how they'll handle dad changing skill colours like that), but if you give that option, why not just add a "skip tutorial" option as well?
