Fixed itFallout 3: Many dialogue choices with clearly defined consequences
Falllout 4: yes ,no ,why and sarcastic
Fallout 3: A few interesting minor factions and settlements (Slavers,Canterburry Commons,Temple of the Union,Little Lamplight,Megton,Tenpenny,Rivet City)
Fallout 4: Shit tons of boring settlements with generic settlers who can compound wealth to buy weapons for when you want to go kill raiders. And two decent cities with a few quests, but you can do nothing major to impact them.
Fallout 3:No real defined back story apart from birth place.
Fallout 4: Good guy social male with military experience and decent wealth, or good gal lawyer that instinctively knows how to use power armor like everyone else, including kids![]()
Fallout 3:Hookers and Slavery as would happen in any anarchic situation.
Fallout 4: Run through Anita Sarkeesian and she removed item.
Bethesda opted for multiple conclusion instead of failre but it doesn't actually remove any choice other than the 'Quest failed' notifier. You can fail quests by killing the wrong person however. And you can't fail quests, that's a big one for me. I don't like it when a game dev removes my ability to fuck up. It just means they are lazy.
Example please.Bethesda opted for multiple conclusion instead of failre but it doesn't actually remove any choice other than the 'Quest failed' notifier. You can fail quests by killing the wrong person however.
In pretty much every sidequest if you kill someone neccessary to the quest.Example please.

Oh alright my mistake. No you can't. Do you know why? Because they made them all fucking immune.
Biggest example I can give because this one pissed me off the most back when I started the game: The Big Dig.
So basically in this quest you're helping some ghoul lady perform a heist on what you think is Diamond City's money vaults. So you help her and her friend you broke out of jail get through these big industrial tunnels to reach the vault. Problem is, for no reason, every time I did this quest, the ginger asshole I'd rescued from prison randomly turned hostile towards me and Bobbi. I had to keep shooting the fucker over and over but he was marked immune, meaning I couldn't kill him. But I also couldn't complete the quest because every time he got up he would turn hostile.
I tried everything to get that goddamn quest to work. I redid it at least 10 times, and no one had a fix for my problem. I couldn't just leave the mission either since I had these 2 idiots following me around everywhere. Eventually I think I finally solved it by turning off his immunity, killing him that way, then reviving him. Took forever though and pissed me off a lot. All because they made this useless fuck immune to death.
I actually had a 2nd glitch with this quest as well. After solving Ginger boy's problem of getting up and trying to kill me for no reason, Bobbi ended up getting stuck in the very last part of the mission. She starts picking up the treasure and is supposed to comment on it, thus completing the quest, but for me, she never commented on it. I don't even remember how I fixed that glitch but it took at least 2 hours to finally figure out why it was broken.
And this happens in pretty much every single quest. Including the Silver Shroud one. I think you mean Kent Connelly. He's immune until you reach the end of the quest and he's kidnapped. Then you can shoot him. Unless they patched that since I last did the quest, but when I did it you couldn't kill him.
Slavery would have been a much more interesting mechanic if all the NPCs who were capturable weren't as uninteresting as a cardboard box.
I disagree , I think slave collars fit in with the theme of fallout and were actually an interesting concept, Fallout doesn't really make sense. For example in new Vegas somehow the character functions without a brain and even talks to his brain, It's wacky.Really, from a realistic perspective "serfdom" or some sort of de facto slavery is a lot more plausible than actual "we call it slavery and have slave collars" kind of slavery. Think of it as like an Immortan Joe or Unkar Plutt on Jakku situation: he can make people do whatever he wants because he controls access to food and water, and people can't just leave because they would die out there in the wastes. This is a much easier form of control to maintain and doesn't require technology or arbitrary contrivances, after all.
Paradise Falls was really, really stupid and Fallout 4 is better for not having something like it.
As per prostitution, it's fine when a game just leaves it out. It's not like the whole "strippers, prostitutes, and burlesque clubs" thing isn't beyond tired in video games.
Not really in that in Fallout 3 you don't know anything about yourself other than your from a vault and your dads gone missing.Actually your backstory is just as rigid in Fo3 as it is in FO4.

Yea but it's not as bad as being an adult with a set spouse/kids, job, past 25+ years of life experiences, time in the army, voice, and personality. At least with 3 you got to make a couple of decisions while you grew upuhmm no, you are literary told everything that happened to you since birth, the sequence is long and linear. You always are a teenager who just left the Vault in search for daddy with the help of your best friend Amata.
Plate full of poop vs plate with only half as much poop.Yea but it's not as bad as being an adult with a set spouse/kids, job, past 25+ years of life experiences, time in the army, voice, and personality. At least with 3 you got to make a couple of decisions while you grew up
Searching for your dad doesn't really tell you much about you character, Technically you could decide not to. Amata is simply a childhood friend who you can or can not be a dick to.uhmm no, you are literary told everything that happened to you since birth, the sequence is long and linear.
