Fallout 4 Mods You Want to See

RedRockRun

First time out of the vault
Pretty much like the title says.

Some things that come to mind for me.

-More under-gear items that can be modded e.g. things besides the vault suit.
-Unique weapons.
-Remove player voice acting.

Both moddable clothes and removed player voice acting are already done AFAIK.

Yup.

What I want? Same mods that I wanted for 3 and NV, mostly.
Smokable cigarettes and classic Fallout weapons (especially Winchester City Killer and .223 pistol).
Also: General balancing and more weapon mods for some weapons like the minigun or the power fist.

/edit:
I usually don't mod games too much, it kinda defeats the point of the game to me. One thing I would like to see, though, would be making the raiders an actual faction that you can join. I talked about it in some other thread: Basically, you can unite all the raider tribes as a warlord, eradicate all opposition and rule the wasteland with an iron fist. Fallout 4 is the first game with truly selfish main quest (at least in the beginning), and becoming a raider is finally a proper way to play the game. Instead of going around helping settlements you conquer and rule them, instead of trading you extort them... Fun times. But quite ambitious, as it would basically be a completely new main quest. There appears to be a lot of cut content concerning raiders in the game, but still. Especially the voice acting will be an issue, at least when it comes to existing characters and the player character.

> A level cap mod. Game becomes not-fun after level 20. There's a mod that removes the level requirement for perks, but i'd like a level cap.

> Removing all the samey fetch quests, or stopping them from being procedurally generated.

> No more respawning enemies.

> A terminal that allows you to control when your base gets atacked, by whom and where they spawn. (Once a base got attacked and the enemies were in the center already, having bypassed all my turrets)

> Also the option to turn off raids when not at your base. It's annoying that you absolutely have to be present to defend your bases. Most of the time i show up, the settlers fend off the threat on their own. I didn't need to be there at all, but the game wants me there for some arbitrary reason.

> A mod that turns this more into an RPG

* Weapon rebalancing (there's a popular mod for this, but I'll give it some more time and testing).

* Less of pretty much everything - less drugs, less ammo, less caps, less junk.

* Ammo and stimpaks have weight.

* Stimpaks don't heal crippled limbs, and limbs don't automagically heal after x seconds.

* No legendary human or robotic enemies.

* Re-balanced drugs. They really need a bigger drawback for how powerful they currently are. Higher cost for curing addiction, less addiction-curing items, harsher addiction penalites, some drawbacks for using them in the first place (blurred vision, stat penalties, etc).

Just a few for now.

  • Realistic Needs - the need to eat, drink, sleep. A mod like this should also tone down the health restored from eating/drinking. This could be extended to NPC's, too to raise the difficulty of Settlement building.
  • Better Companion likes/disliked. This would remove a lot of the stupid ones like entering Power Armor/Hacking/Lock-picking and your follower liking that. Instead they'd most stick to judging your actions/choices in game and maybe throw in some dating/gift system too for more realistic romance.
  • Rarer Power Armor - Makes Power Armor MUCH less available. You could still get it early on if you: knew what you were doing and could possibly overcome a challenge, but it being handed to you has to go.
  • Make Stimpaks not heal limbs. Also adds Doctor Bags & makes splints/slings craftable so the player can make their own fix if needed.
  • Roleplaying Mod. A mod that adds in new dialogues, dialogue paths, quests and skill & SPECIAL checks to game.
  • Slavery Mod. Makes it possible for player to become a Slaver and enslave NPC's. The slaves you make could work at your Settlements or follow you. This would add more of an ability to be the "bad guy" in the game. Being a Slaver would instantly make most factions and people dislike you, too.
  • Raider Mod. Adds in the possibility of becoming a Raider by joining their faction. This could also add in many new dialogues for interacting with Raiders and new Settlement items to assist you with roleplaying as one. Being a Raider would make most factions and people dislike you, too.
  • A mod that adds Ghoul/Super Mutant/Synth/Robot settlers. Each race could be given a "racial bonus" too. For example, Ghouls would be the best Farmers, Synths & Human's could be the best to work Stores, Super Mutants the best Guard's, Robots the best scrappers and have a small penalty to everything else. Robots would be rare and not have any needs at all, this would include a bed and the need to sleep.
  • Realistic Legendary Items. This would remove stupid shit like sticks that freeze people and instead just give the items stats not normally reachable by crafting. These items could also have unique mods as well that can not be crafted. Whatever, so as long as it's realistic.
  • Better Settlement Guards. This could add the ability to train guards for higher health and maybe give them weapon related perks. Additionally this could possibly add in the ability to make patrols from point A -> B and the like.
  • Settlement Diplomacy, Trade & War. This would add new large NPC Settlements to the game and add the ability to Trade/Diplomacy/War with them. Basically it'd play like a Civilization game kind of, minus taking turns for actions..
  • Settlement Adventures mod. Adds in the ability to send settlers on simulated raids/adventures/scavenging hunts. It'd work similarly to the Oregon Trail game where you give a group of settlers food/water/medicine/weapons and send them on a journey with death and failure being a possibility. Anyway, whenever an adventure concludes - if they succeeded you'd get some possibly rare loot and a neat logbook to read about their adventures from.

I could sit here all morning posting mods I want to see, I better stop. :p

Was there not a cigarette/drinking mod in Fallout 3? I remember one which added a lot of drugs and alcohol, and with it came a few NPC animations that could be done by the player.

I've seen a YouTube video addressing the raiders, and what it boils down to is an alternate intro where the player chooses to help the raiders attacking the minutemen at the beginning and then helping that one raider obsessed with the Sight in kidnapping Mama Murphy who would more or less serve the same purpose she currently does.

Concerning the main quest, I don't think it's much different altogether from the previous games: You as the player have a mission from the start e.g. Find a water chip/kill the Master, find the G.E.C.K./defeat the Enclave, Find your father/defeat the Enclave, Find the Platinum Chip/fight in the Battle of the Hoover Dam. In my opinion, the thing about FO4 which makes things seem really truncated is the voice acting. It makes the character feel very set from the beginning, and the removal of karma exacerbates the matter further. Mostly though, I just want this voice gone. Regardless of my character looking like Peter Lorre or Abraham from The Walking Dead, he still sounds like a contemptible pussy.

As for the .223 pistol, that was almost the first thing I imagined when I heard the game would take place in Boston, yet I no has pistol ):<

If anyone here is bothering to mod the game and planning on adding it in, I have some suggestions:

-Have the default receiver be 10mm.
-Include alternate receivers to change the ammo type to .308, one that adds electric damage, one that adds explosive damage.
-Possible legendary version that does 50% more damage to synths.

With other mods, it would be nice to see an alternate main quest independent of the story like the mods which did so for Fallout 3, NV, and Skyrim.

@Hassknecht, I get what you mean with mods too, but as someone once said, Bethesda games come flawed out of the factory, and it's the modding community's job to finish the work. Plus there are some grievous screw-ups Bethesda made this time around.

Isn´t there another topic like this already? Whatever.

An alternative start mod. You would choose from a list of backgrounds. A raider background would give you raider gear related. Same thing with a minutemen background, diamond city resident and etcetera.

And I agree with a .223 pistol mod. I loved using that gun in 2 and new vegas.

-Titties!

I kid I kid..

- A mod to make the game Isometric view turn based with a proper PC interface for a mouse and a keyboard.

An eagleview/Godmode view interface for settlement building. Also something that fixes either the buggy happiness values or makes it more clear why the fuck do they go down everytime I am out of town despite them having all the resources at ridiculously high levels.

A major redesign of the Pipboy interface. They somehow made it worse...

A complete overhaul like Dust for FNV. I already have the no voice, dialog overhaul, real world damage, and more armor slots; without these the game was really unplayable for me.

I want to see a mod that fixes the ABYSMAL pipboy interface, settlement interface, perk chart interface, and every other interface I forgot to mention. That stupid pipboy screen covers a tiny tiny portion of the screen while your big ass ugly thumb sits there for no reason. I won't ask if they did that due to immersion and realism because Fallout 4 is as realistic as a kid stuck in a fridge for over 200 years without anything..oh wait...

My guess is they were making this entirely for a television and console setup. I ended up playing this on the PC using a TV screen and controller because the interface is dumb otherwise.

Yeah good Lord the interface for the pipboy is ridiculous especially when you try to use it when the sun is out. The sun makes the goddamn screen UNREADABLE with that stupid sun effect(can't remember the name for it). I use the mouse wheel more than any other binding, why you may ask? To scroll through the inventory in order to look through a couple options at a time because God forbid we make use of the precious screen space!
The mouse has a delay in input since everyone loves mouse acceleration! The map was pointless, why can't I see any roads and must download a map mod for that? The local map? What in the living hell am I supposed to be looking at, chicken scratch?
That's just the tip of the iceberg for my UI complaints, I'm sorry for ranting I'm just pissed off. I'll be sure to demonstrate th UI for sure at The Podcast on the 12th.

I actually want a mod to cut out like a huge chunk of the spawnable enemies, and then give a good amount of space between them, so you don't have ferals, super mutants, and gun runners within a two block area. It's rediculous.

Fucking visible holstered weapons. I am tired of pulling a Fat Man out of my arsehole and whoever came up with that design choice (along with whoever approved that) needs to be kicked in the balls with a steel toed army boot.

I would add actual hip fire and aiming down ironsights in 3rd person. There is no animation for actually aiming your weapon...
