Fallout Developers Profile - Scott Bennie

It's profile tuesday! This week's installment of the Fallout Developers Profile brings us Scott Bennie, an honest-to-dirt designer of the original Fallout, and with some good stories to tell:
What's your favourite Fallout memory?

The first time I fought a deathclaw in the game during playtest. I was getting my butt kicked and getting frustrated when Dogmeat suddenly lunged up and knocked the creature down. I shouted out loud "Good boy, Dogmeat!" and did a called shot with my laser rifle between the deathclaw's eyes. Unfortunately. I fumbled the shot, ended up hitting Dogmeat, and incinerated the poor animal in one shot.
Link: Fallout Developers Profile - Scott Bennie

Always a pleasure to read these things, thanks!

Say, have you ever thought about/tried doing an interview in a similar vein with some of the Beth devs (if they're willing that is)? Sort of asking them what their thoughts on the original Fallouts are and blablabla.

Or is this an old idea that's been discussed a million times before?

haha, what a kickass Fallout memory that is. that's the kind of stuff that made FO so fun tbh...

I think that he had a problem with the violence in the game. :)

When will we have an interview with Jason Anderson?

This interview got buried with all the Van Buren excitement, we should point it out again next week, it really deserves some carefull reading, very interesting stuff.

It seems Jason's official occupation now is "hermit", so little chance there.

The Hub had some great quests (dunno what he did for Children of the Cathedral) so a :salute: to Scott Bennie.

Briosa; I'll mention him again when I post next Tuesday's dev profile.

<3 Scott Bennie

Nice to see the tradition of Profiles is alive and kicking, good job on getting more :)

Bernie kicks ass :) I'd love to see him on the job when all the original Fallout developers get together to produce a real sequel 20 years from now (hey, I can dream, can't I?)

Dog Meat Stories

This is exactly why I hate FPS or RT Games....only in FO do we actually Remember the way we killed something. In a frag twitch feast all you do is mow over brain dead zombie AI....and I hate bad AI. Give Me TURN BASED Action....I remember how Dog Meat died, every time I played FO. If FO was FPS or RT, I wouldn't even remember Dog Meats name.

Yeah, and speaking of Dogmeat I had recently accomplished F1 with Dogmeat alive, without locking him behind the fields in Military Base

Look at it - such a NPC - dog without even an dialogue option...but we all love it;)
