Fallout Ger.Vers. and Mapper Problem

ok here is what i`ve got:

i have the german version of fallout, and the patch 1.2
i`ve also got the blood and childpatch (wich changes the fallout2.exe from ger into us version, and adds the missing critters)

now:
when i create a new proto and save the hole map, with this new prot AND start the game the protos get deleted... in the listfiles they are still standing with their numbers. the mapper cant open the new map any more and in the game i get a black screen. (in the mapper the position for the new protos are still there but i get an "can`t load proto" message.)

pls help me! thx...

PPS: i have extracted patch000.dat and del it afterwards

note: if i edit a orginal proto all works fine, only new one make some problems
 
just create a new proto, with the same name as the deleted one, place it in the correct directory and tag "read only" with explorer. you 'll now be able to reopen your map. in fact you allways should tag ead only once the proto is created so you should not have this problem anyway
 
have you read my tutorial on editing / making proto's? ( link to my site is in my signature at the bottom. )

what exactly happens to the proto's? does it delete ALL of them or just the new ones?

are you starting the map in the actual game or just re-starting the mapper?

the file structutre is very important to stop this kind of problem..

yes i`ve read your tutorial (its the only reason why i´m in this modding stuff)...

only the NEW protos get deleted, when i´m editing existend protos all is fine. the "read only" tag is useless... i´ve tryed it. i think fallout2 likes it to delet my files :(

i can´t copy the protos back again! the folder c:\....\data\proto\*** gets complitly deleted only the listfiles (critters.lst) are left. in this listfiles the name of the new protos are still there (00000484.pro) and when i start the editor i have the place of the proto in the list, but i can´t use it. i get this "error reading proto" thing. (all maps in which i´ve used the new protos are corrupted and i can´t load them any more)

but i have found one solution:
i created a new patch000.dat and packed the listfiles and my new protos in it (with the correct path). the files get again del if i start the game BUT i can use the map!
can someone explain that to me?
