Fallout: New Vegas Developer Diary #5 - The Strip

I found the locations in Fallout 3 were too close to each other, I'm hoping for more open "nothingness" in F:NV to give it more of a wasteland/desert feel.

thats somewhat doubtfull as I heard Vegas has more or less the size of F3s landscape ... so the settlements will be proabably again 2 min. from each other ... I dissliked that already in F3.

Hi there

I'm kinda new here, but I've been lurking in the nma forum for quite a long time.

I have high expectations for New Vegas and I really hope, that it won't become a terrible mess like Fallout 3. There are some things about Obsidian's design ideas which I like, but I just can't tolerate the design of the actual Strip. I am sure, that it has been said before, but it just doesn't fit the overall fallout feeling. Yes, the design, architecture e.t.c. do look retro and may remind of 50s New Vegas (at least I suppose so), but they don't have that retro sci-fi touch, which in my opinion is essential for a Fallout game. I would prefer something in the vein of Defonten's “City Ruins”
