Fallout: New Vegas Launch Day Reviews #2

The CVG guys seem to like Obsidian a lot. IIRC they gave Alpha Protocol an even higher score.

What I find more amusing is, all the things they bash the game for and then say "it's not their fault", then still give a lower score. I go look at their FO3 review, and guess how many mentions of bugs and inconsistent combat there are.

Yeah, I'm certainly amused by how most reviews seem to be mentioning the bugs with New Vegas when they failed to mention the same bugs with Fallout 3. Same goes for criticisms really.

Also gonna just throw it out there, called it again. It seems unanimous that it's Fallout 3 with a few nice additions and good writing this time around.

I still think that they don't put enough emphasis on the gameplay when they score games, it just doesn't seem like a game with mediocre combat should be getting 9s to me... I'm still not convinced that it doesn't have some goofy shit in it, I'm interested in what the NMA review will have to say about it.

I think the best we can do is to think about this like some kind of shooter thingy inspired by Fallout.

Interesting that The Escapist waxes philosophic about the Indiana Jones easter egg, without knowing or wanting to know what it is.

Actually in terms of gameplay finetuning its way better than F3. Stats and SPECIAL have a meaning again. And even in other places it has been improved.

Yeah you sure called it on that daring and unorthodox prediction
