Fallout: New Vegas magazine blitz detailed

"specifically a move for a golf club called "Fore!" which seems to be a groin shot."

Hmmm so the important knowledge of an ancient sports before the war term seems to have survived for a pretty damn long time.

All dialogue options are shown to all players, regardless of whether you have the stats to succeed or not, though there's no punishment for failure.

WHAT? WHY?

Mmmmk.

"You'll meet many groups, including the Brotherhood of Steel from Fallout 3, but the backdrop for your adventure will be a conflict between two major factions."

So BoS are in.

The "Radio Ga Ga" thing was just the name of the section the OXM editors used for the thing with Black Mountain, Tabitha and the ghoul called Raul.

The "Blue Supermutants" are just the ones seen in the screens before, they look a bit more blue in OXM to me. Nothing is said about any new "Blue Supermutants".

It mentions something about SPECIAL descriptions; if you have 1 Endurance you're Endurance description is 'Basically Dead' and with 10 Charisma you are 'Cult Leader'.

And there's no new screens that differ from the other magazines, afaik.

Tabitha looks a bit like Lady Gaga and she runs a radio. The very same phrase was used as a section name in the PSM3 article.

A poster at The Vault:

I have OXM UK with me right now. Details?

* Special attacks in VATS are performed by pressing Y (For 360)

* No Co-Op mention

* New appearance slider for "age"

* The Pip-Boy in the game is the F3 Pip-boy 3000 model

* Your quest in the wasteland involves finding out who tried to murde you and what was in the package you were carrying

* In Goodsprings, there is the option of joining with the Powder Gangers and ruining the town.

* The F3 combat armor is returning (Already known?)

* The coversation options appear for everybody (Even a person with low explosives can try to persuade Easy Pete to give you dynamite) But, if your skill is low, your character will sound stupid and will fail.

* Customization - Scopes on pistols is one example. It also affects the guns performance, add a large magazine to a wepaon, and you'll notice longer, but fewer reloading times.

* Obsidian has hinted the reputation will be important the ending

* Nightkin have been turned schizophrenic through use of Stealth Boys, they deactivate their camo before attacking you, with a club. You can only target them in VATS when there visible.

* You can covince Tabitha that the "dumb-dumb (Fallout 3)" mutants are planning a revolt against the Mariposa mutants, and that causes a battle between the two factions, leaving you to go and grab up Raul.

* Poseidon Energy was developing a solar weapon called Archimedes II. The plant is currently controlled by NCR, and they've placed a guy named Fantastic in charge of the plant, he hasn't figured out how to activate the plant or the weapon yet. But, if your good enough, then you can. You can divert power to the wastes, or use the weapon for your own ends.

Thats all the unknown information that was in the magazine.

* No Co-Op mention

Why the fuck everyone thinks that Coop will be in?

* In Goodsprings, there is the option of joining with the Powder Gangers and ruining the town.

I like this. It gives another possibilitie for the already named quest. See... in Fallout 3 times, they always and only talked about Megaton and how much choices you have. With New Vegas and the first few information, we get already much more examples for choices.

Seems good, for a start at least. Something personal and no world-saving bullshit. Could've expected as much from Obsidian.
Nightkin have been turned schizophrenic through use of Stealth Boys, they deactivate their camo before attacking you, with a club.
Nightkin with clubs? Ugh.
But, if your good enough, then you can. You can divert power to the wastes, or use the weapon for your own ends.
Sounds interesting and good.

I think this is a pretty good basic motivation for a Fallout game. At least no personal ties with a Dad or anything like that it seems. And refreshing to have a main character that is "out and about" at the start of the game.

* In Goodsprings, there is the option of joining with the Powder Gangers and ruining the town.

Great to have the choice but hope that they won't be generic bad guys.

* Customization - Scopes on pistols is one example. It also affects the guns performance, add a large magazine to a wepaon, and you'll notice longer, but fewer reloading times.

Sounds fun and is probably a product of there being weapon customization in Alpha Protocol.

* Obsidian has hinted the reputation will be important the ending

This is great if it turns out to be true.

* Nightkin have been turned schizophrenic through use of Stealth Boys, they deactivate their camo before attacking you, with a club. You can only target them in VATS when there visible.

Weird. Sounds a bit boring that they're making a dangerous enemy like Nightkin attack with clubs.

* You can covince Tabitha that the "dumb-dumb (Fallout 3)" mutants are planning a revolt against the Mariposa mutants, and that causes a battle between the two factions, leaving you to go and grab up Raul.

Sawyer mentioned in some other preview that there were plenty of options to manipulate factions and how they react to each other. Sounds good.

The plant is currently controlled by NCR, and they've placed a guy named Fantastic in charge of the plant, he hasn't figured out how to activate the plant or the weapon yet. But, if your good enough, then you can. You can divert power to the wastes, or use the weapon for your own ends.

Really don't like the idea much of some super weapon (is that the laser they were talking about in another preview?), but again, it's good that they give a choice in the matter again.

Would say it's more to do with This mod than Alpha Protocol.

JFC, reading this idiot's list just killed a few braincells. It's so nice to see Bethesda's target audience displaying their inanity and general education level as a failure in and of itself.

anyway...

Nice. I like this.

:?

I guess nightkins are fighting with a club due to engine limitations. That's how I think it will work: Nightkin is invisible until he uses a weapon. The AI is stupid, so give them a minigun and they will shot from max range, wich would nullify the invisiblity. So you have to give them a melee weapon and they run up to you, try to hit and become visible.

If I am wrong on this, god shall hit me with a thunderbolt.

No thunderbolt yet?

Guess I am right.
