Fallout: New Vegas previews

One interesting quibble I had arose from my attempt to free Nelson from the clutches of the Legion. After cleansing the town, I cut down some NCR captives they’d been keeping around. Due to this, they were hostile to me. So even though I’d freed them from their bonds, they immediately attempted to bash my face in.

I've read this paragraph about 10 times now and I'm still not 100% sure what the author meant. Also, I have a headache now.

Yeah, that paragraph is starting to remind me of the movie Idiocracy. He's constantly throwing around "they this" and "they that" without defining which group it is that he is referring to.

One possibility:

And

One interesting quibble I had arose from my attempt to free Nelson from the clutches of the Legion. After cleansing the town, I cut down some NCR captives the Legion of Pudding had been keeping around. Due to this, the captives were hostile to me. So even though I’d freed the Legion from the captives' bonds, the gorilla men from Venus immediately attempted to bash my face in.

One interesting quibble I had arose from my attempt to free Nelson from the clutches of the Legion. After cleansing the town, I cut down some NCR captives that Nelson's clutch been keeping around. Due to this, the chickens were hostile to me. So even though I’d freed the NCR captives from their bonds, the chickens immediately attempted to bash my face in.

The statement seems fine to me until he says "Due to this," as he makes it sound as though freeing the captives would naturally make them hostile to him. I don't want to presume too much on my reading comprehension, but it just seems poorly worded.

Edit: Upon re-reading the quote, I think he means the settlement itself becomes hostile since you freed the town's prisoners which would most likely be considered a hostile act.

Meaning the statement would look like this?

It still doesn't make sense.

Edit: Also, notice that he said he "cleansed the town", meaning there are no enemies left.

Edit 2: I give up on this. It's obvious this guy was only given a job because he can punctuate properly (or was this solely the editor's doing?). Never mind if the content makes any sense or not.

No, meaning the statement would look like this;

I think the player should start the game with a Death Star machine gun. It's a gun that shoots multiple planet-destroying Death Star beam weapons at your enemies and has a really funny splattery death animation.

Every time you'd fire that weapon, the game would instantly end. Since it destroys planets and all... Reminds me of the armageddon spell in the Ultima games.

@Burrich: I thought Nelson was the name of a prisoner NPC.

I'm not gonna bother deciphering that paragraph. Just too confusing.

Anyway, Obsidian was at Comic-Con yesterday. Did anyone hear about anything about their appearance there?
