Fallout of Nevada

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
Okey let's get this topic started. My problem is that I don't speak russian perfectly so I got stuck pretty soon. Right after I left Vault 8, I am with officer, doctor (pretty important doctor) and one guy and one woman stuck right at the Vault 8 door. I don't know where to go (no exit grid as far as I can see) or what to do. I've noticed ladder but it's unreachable and it should allow me to go to the upper platform with scorpions and one dead body. No rope tho :( Can anyone help? I hope I am not the only non-russian player playing this awesome mod :(

I'd really help you and ofcourse play it for myself, but my dusty high-school russian is just not enough to thoroughly enjoy the dialogs etc. :/

Phew, got it now, I just had to talk with officer and he helped me get up. Seems like there is something true about czech proverb "The morning is wiser than the evening."

Translation will be soon. Just wait.

Glad to hear this. Although I like russian, it takes a while for me to translate it.

How can i install it correctly? After the character creation it didn't work...

Well AFAIK you don't have to even install Fallout 2. Just download the mod, unpack it and you can play. According to the manual you have to install Fallout 2 (Huge version of installation) and then delete file/folders master.dat and patch001.dat. Then unpack mod into the game directory and you can play. You should see new loading screen, new intro and new menu. When everything is okey you should appear at the bottom level of the Vault 8.

It's not a completely standalone game package. It needs the critter.dat from your FO2.

Setup could be made much easier with Sfall + custom patch .dat file for the mod content, etc. Then you would just need to extract it into your Fallout 2 folder and be done with it. :>

yeah, it seems they included all the content of master.dat... Don't know why they did it, since it only makes the archive larger than it should be.

Oh boy got stuck again. Since I don't want to spoil anymore, I will hide it in spoiler:

[spoiler:985cced0e8]I have to idea how to disarm the trap on the safe in Gecko power plant. I presume that in this safe there is the much needed security key. My traps skill is 35% and to be honest I don't think that trap check is correct there. I tried this about 50 times.[/spoiler:985cced0e8]

But maybe as usuall I go sleep and next morning the answer will come by itself :)

Edit: Got it... that trap check was really high and I had to increase my traps skill...

[spoiler:ef3ca67d83]Благодарю вас, но я не знаю, как пройти через красный дверь. динамита на них не работает, и у меня нет ничего сильнее. Я думал, что ключ к двери в хранилище.[/spoiler:ef3ca67d83]

I'm write about this tomorrow, but I think you just need a better search. The answer lies in the same location ;)

[spoiler:ad9b644ad5]Need to crack a safe, a hammer or crowbar.
It is important that you had rubber boots, otherwise it will be bad. Further, all will be easier.[/spoiler:ad9b644ad5]

I am watching official?
Yes, it is official forum FoN.

Patch 0.99a(musthave)

Thanks, I have already increased my traps and lockpick skill, so I was able to open the safe without a hammer or crowbar.

I've installed the patch right after I found out the bug in Vault City and too soon final chapter. When my lvl 7 character encountered guys with miniguns I knew something has to be wrong.

I am right now focusing on the main quest line, so I can take a lot of screenshots for review.

I'm currently translating this from Russian to English - but don't expect anything other than a 'Google Special'.

The language in the game might be somewhat reminisce of Anthony Burgess - A Clockwork Orange, with a mixture of English and broken Russian sprinkled throughout (Nadsat)...better than nothing, unless a native Russian speaker would like to take up the task.
