Amazon Prime has teamed up with the Westworld show runners and Bethesda Game Studios to develop a TV show based on Fallout.

Amazon Studios has licensed the rights to the best-selling video game franchise Fallout, with married writers and showrunners Joy and Nolan attached to oversee the potential TV series. The project is currently in development but has a series commitment penalty attached. That means that if Amazon execs like the script, Fallout would bypass the traditional pilot stage and go directly to series (or if it is passed over, all involved would be paid out as if it had). A writer is not currently attached.

Todd Howard and James Altman from Bethesda will serve as executive producers as well.

We'll see if this will actually amount to anything, and if that thing will be funny-bad or just sad-bad.

Edit: Actually nevermind. Now I'm worried that Todd Howard is the executive producer for this.
 
Amazon did The Boys and it really surprised me how good that was so this could be entertaining in some morbid way. Keep in mind everything you know and love about Fallout is done for. Now prepare to watch something different with a Fallout skin. Then get ready for Elder Scrolls. All of this will mean that Bethesda is forgiven for everything by their jaded fans, which then will go on to buy every game they produce like usual. Even the ones that complain about them all the time will still buy their games quietly. Day one purchase collectors edition.
 
They won't be using Mad max as a main inspiration because that franchise is alive and kicking and they are doing everything android in Westworld. Guessing this will be 50's prewar dudes in trench coats then fast forward to future, leaving the vault and quirky skeletons. Gore will be turned down and no kids getting hurt. And oh, filmed entirely isometric as a final critical hit.

The series is known for gore so it will have gore. Nobody cares about their kids mental health anymore.
 
Despite taking place hundreds of years after the apocalypse everybody will still act like it is the 1950's.

There goes the tiny microscopic little speck of initial hope I had that it maybe just maybe wouldn't be just another shower of bloody and chunky diarrhea over the already desecrated and rotten carcass of the forever dammed series.
 
Their adaptation of The Expanse was pretty decent, though the difference here is that they don't have the actual creators of the Fallout universe guiding them through it they have Bethesda instead.

Also I didn't particularly care for Westworld, I was more intrigued by all the western themes than I was any of the robot stuff.

Wouldn't necessarily help having the creators work on it, have you played Outer Worlds?

And that's saying something
They already released a tiny bit of info and I know what kind of show this will be

It is going to suck and hard. With Bethesda at the helm and how uncreative and politically divisive Hollywood is today I expect nothing but a shit show. Sure, there have been some gems from Amazon Prime but Bethesda is going to be in creative control so I expect nothing but the same ol' crap that we have been seeing from them lately.
