Favorite minigun in Fallout 2

I love miniguns(gatling or chaingun if you will), can't get enough of them.Fallout is the only game that has satisfied my thirst for minigun action.4 miniguns.I was shitting myself when i found this out.So anyway, whats your favorite minigun.The vindicator does it for me.Pity it doesn't have its own character model to immortalize it.
 
Played Syndicate? In the latter half of that game, Minis were pretty much a default weapon and you are given freedom to shred any cars/garbage trucks/APCs and entire town population with it.
 
Bozar was good. I never really used "Teh Vindicator" because it used up so much ammo. I liked the enhanced plasma rifle to. Mmmmmm...turning children into goop.
 
Ehehehe, I'm guessing you guys haven't been around forever.

If you had, you might remember old legendary threads that went "Vindicator or bozar?"

It was totally mindboggling how much time people could put into discussing which of the guns was better. Heh, good fun.

Uhm, just don't do that, aight?
 
Vindacator----the most letheal weapon in game. best for later on since the caseless ammo tends to be scarce
Bozor----------good for early on, when your big gun skill is 60 or higher since the ammo is easy 2 find.

if you have fast shot perk or bonus rate of fire, or both, then the gauss rifle and the pulse rifle are the best 2 in the game.
 
Vindicator is definitely my favorite. With it I managed to get my highest critical ever. It was something like 3500, though I'm not sure anymore, it's been a long time. Bozaar is much more useful, on the other hand, and in my opinion it's the second most powerful weapon in the game (my highest critical - something around 2000). The biggest problem with Vindicator is that you get it pretty late in the game and ammo is virtually impossible to find, except maybe in San Fran and the Enclave, so it's pretty much reserved for Klamall users... :wink:
 
BOZAR ALL THE WAY!!! I love that gun, i was costantly hittin of criticals for 600hp. That gun was my companion throughout the whole game. There is no need to lie guys, you all know the Bozar is better.....right? :o
 
I actually thought the gatling laser.
1) It has only a 30 cell thingie, so you don't use up as much ammo as fast as the other miniguns
2) the ammo is pretty easy to get
3) it does great criticals
4) just love mowing people in half
 
Depends.

As for non cheating, the Bozar is the way to go. I does more damage than the Vindicator and uses easy to find ammo.

HOWEVER,

If you manage to find a way to get tons of caseless ammo, (either cheating or hoarding whenever you can), Vindicator is better.

The reason is the fact that the Vindicator can be fired four times without reloading. If you have 12 action points, you can fire it a total of four times. With the Bozar, you fire twice for 8 AP, then reload for 2AP, then you only have an extra 2 AP left, no way to fire for a third time.

So if you decided to hoard, then the Vindicator wins in the long run.
 
The Bozar is a minigun??? I think not. A minigun has to have 6 chambers for it to be a minigun....

I'd have to go with Vindicator... but the ammo is a bitch to find.

No its not a minigun. I was comparing weapons for a different subject that got off topic.
 
I never really liked the big-guns skill too much but I ended up raising it when my gauss ammo started to run out.

I liked the Laser Gattling Gun. I liked the animation of the enclave trooper I just shot being cut into half and falling to the ground, torso first then legs after muhuwahahahahah.

The Vindicator was just too hard to use because of the lack of caseless ammunition; the only places I could find it was in San Francisco and sometimes at Buster's outside NCR.

In my opinion, though not a minigun, the bozar is the best big gun in the game. It does incredible damage (I was doing like 400 to Frank Horrigan with each burst with Sniper), and .223 ammunition is incredibly common in the game. The only downside is that it needs to be reloaded after every two bursts.

Of course, not much is alive after two bursts from the Bozar.

After testing, the Vindicator does less damage then the Bozar per shot. However, 4 shots from the Vindicator does more damage then two shots from the Bozar. You can test both weapons out on Enclave guys at Navarro. In fact, the Vindicator does damage close enough to the Bozar, to kill in one shot most of the time.
 
The only argument I have to add here is that I wish that they remove the Bozar. It is a munchkin weapon and a crude mockery of a Barret .50 rifle.

Yeah, I agree... The Bozar should have been a really big-hitting small gun, or maybe even a big gun with .50 cal ammo. Personally I thought it should have been a step-up from the Sniper Rifle.
