FO1/2: touchscreen support

Testament to the ghoul lifespan

I recently acquired a netbook/tablet and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to make old games, such as Fallout 1 & 2 touchscreen compatible.

I guess this would need logic changes in the way mouse cursors are handled within the game itself (as well as calibration) and I presume that would be no small feat to implement, ergo idle hopes on my side.

Still, would be damn neat if I could just forget about the touchpad or optional mouse & do it by finger or stylus. :)

Bump. :)

Running Fallout 1&2 on a Samsung Slate 7, and it's really awesome with high res patches and so on, but the mouse requirement is killing all the fun. I want to play this in bed, see? Hehe…

So, if there is ANY way to patch the games to make touch/pen input work, it would be the best thing ever. I'll gladly play guinea pig here, Steam version, GOG version, whatever. I know a lot of people would love this.

So, anybody?

I was struggling to get Fallout 2 working on my new HP Stream 7 the whole weekend and finally I've done it! I must note at this point that this is only for advanced users because it requires turning off the Secure Boot in UEFI and installing an unsigned driver (code google com/p/vmulti/). If you are still interested, you can download everything you need here:
h * * p : / / u l . t o / g 3 w l x z 2 3
I also included detailed step-by-step instructions and compiled vmulti driver (x86 only) so you do not have to compile it yourself. Let me know if you have any questions regarding the installation. It is provided as is, free of charge and without any warranties of any kind.
