Blades vs Regulators - reall bad bug

Hey, I'm at the battle of the Blades against the Regulators in the Boneyard, and after wiping out all of the regulators, and not losing any of the blades, and leaving all townspeople (in other words, damn near perfect) i'm still in battle! I can't get out of the battle mode to talk to Razor or Jon. I've tried exiting the town altogether and it still didn't help. I'm patched up to the newest version.

RE: Blades vs Regulators - reall bad bug

Look around........you probably missed one or two of the regulators......when they run they sometimes go into Smitty's shop , way down by the gardens or near the fortune tellers tent.....if that's not it, you must pissed of the blades somehow.

RE: Blades vs Regulators - reall bad bug

I looked and looked, but the only people around are common townsfolk, smitty, the doc, jon, and razor. i did try killing everyone but razor, but battle still went on. However, everytime it went to her turn in combat, she just stood there motionless. Last time I went through the game I remember having this problem as well. But the first time there wasn't an issue.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm weird........that only happens to me if i kill some blades.....i always arm them after doing the gun runner quest......i have no clue.....JR might offer some insight though....i haven't played it in a while so i'm just going off memory.

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Mar-19-02 AT 10:28AM (GMT)[p]That's the only thing that i can think of too. If you, or any of your friends (and the gun runners count too) hit one of the townfolks with a burst shot for instance the combat will not stop. You do not necessarely have to kill them, hitting them is enough.
Edit : i saw you didn't kill Jon Zimmerman. He's still around ? Kill him too. See if that helps. Have you also manually ended combat by clicking on the end combat button ?

Razor's Holotape

I tried to talk to Razor, gang leader of the blades, but I didn't receive any holotape from her to show to Zimmerman. If I quit the job from Zimmerman and would start killing the regulators would that finish my quest?

RE: Razor's Holotape

razor's holotape isn't at all that important, if i remember correctly. if you have it (you can ask her for it once you've agreed to help the blades), you can give it to the guy who lost his son (is he the mayor or something? i forgot his name, sorry), but the only thing that happens is this: he gets pissed, he starts pushing a regulator and most of the time he gets blown away. the fight between the blades and the regulators will start anyway, so as i said: it doesn't really matter. you probably get some xp and maybe some karma, but what the hell, right?

Strange Blades bug in Adytum

This contains some Fallout 1 spoilers so don't read it if you haven't finished Fallout 1.

After talking to Zimmerman, taking the quest, talking to Razor, talking to Gabriel, killing the deathclaws, talking to Gabriel again and talking to Razor again, I went down to Adytum to let Zimmerman examine the holodisc Razor gave me. I saved the game before talking to him.

Well, he got mad at the Regulators, they offed him, and a fight began with some Blades apparently firing from the north (I saw lasers hitting Regulators outside the window). Just then some friends showed up at my door for some boardgaming, so I exited the game without saving.

Later I ran the game again, loaded the save at the point right before I talk to Zimmerman, and again hand him the holodisc. He got mad, the Regulators killed him, the fight broke out....but no Blades. I tried this several times, sometimes the Regulator would miss Zimmerman but he would fall down anyway, sometimes they would hit him for 250 damage and he would fall down but it didn't say he died although he was a corpse that could be looted, and other minor bugginess, but the Blades would never show up.

The only thing I did differently between the first time (where the Blades showed up) and the others was run the game and load a saved game before talking to Zimmerman. Apparently once I had saved and quit, something happened along the lines of the "talk to Zimmerman without the disc" bug, because in my experiments to figure out why the Blades weren't coming I went back to the Blades instead of handing him the disc, and Razor was dead (although her standing lower torso was still there, very weird looking). I tried talking to Gabriel and he said there was no reason to leave now that the Blades had taken care of the Regulators. I went back to Adytum and the Regulators were alive and well.

This is the first time I can recall where the game behaved differently in a given situation after quitting from it, running it and loading a saved game.

That's...odd. I was under the impression that the "Zimmerman is dead" script fired no matter what (as long as he gets killed). Load a previous save (you ARE using more than one save, riiiight?) and see if the same thing happens. If not, you might have saved in a funky place. I have had times where saving in a critical part of a quest, then loading, would prevent certain scripts from firing.

I know this is an old thread (and perhaps it should be merged with http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27014 and http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=314902), but this is a continuation of the same problem. I was replaying through the Adytum Blades vs. Regulators sequence (using the Killap patch), and I was trying to find out if there is a way to keep Zimmerman alive. If you join the attack there is almost no way to stop the Regulator next to him from killing him. If you use super stimpacks to kill that Regulator prior to the attack, then Zimmerman will be attacked by the Blades or the townspeople.

Is there some way for Zimmerman and the Blades and the townspeople to resolve their differences (in otherwords, be on the same side) once the fighting begins. Maybe if I super stimpack the Regulator to 2 hp and plant a gun on Zimmerman before the attack. Does having the Regulator turn on Zimmerman put him on the good side of the Blades?
