FOnline 2238 goes 2.5D with Van Buren Assets

Now, if only the designers of the Fo1 section would stop being boneheads and keeping the Fo1 city layouts, NPCs and the Cathedral with the Master intact, I'd be a very happy kitten.

I am still waiting for your Hub map change. Since the last version, I've changed stuff already again here and there. :p

You will never be a kitten.

In theory, this is possible now.

Here's a thought, are 3D models the only 3D element you're interested in? Or are there plans in the distant, distant future to maybe Van Burenise the maps too?

Obviously, that's way off in the future - having to 3D every single map in Fallout 1/2 would be a mammoth task (and the resources may not even exist), and maybe not even worth the amount of work it would take, but I'm curious anyway.

I wasn't sure they'd fit transplanted across games, but at that distance and that perspective I don't think there's a clash in art styles.

What really would be extremely nice is Linux support. With that and open sourcecode this will be playable on every device, instead of only being playable on huge Windows machines.:

Hi, I'm one of devs.

With the latest versions of WINE, the client seems to be working perfectly, although native linux support will probably not happen anytime soon, it's comforting to know that some people are already running it in linux, and indeed has been for quite some time.

Alright thx, gonna try it with wine. :)

Just was thinking about devices like Linux smartphones (android, maemo, meego etc.), IPhone, homebrew gaming devices like OPENPANDORA (<-FOnline on this would rock) and many more.

Maybe you get your Linux compatible code for free by just releasing your sourcecode. I am sure there are many people out there who would do such things.

Now that you introduced 3D models, you should make the scenery slightly zoomable. The 2D assets will blur a little, but it would be a cool thing to see.
