It's a scam to gain access to your bank account.

Still the same shit as with Nigeria, huh? That one must go down in history of spam as one of the Spam Classics, with the likes of Iloveyou.

I think the Nigerian consul here even got murdered over it.

I got this Nigeria spam...stupid.... People that fall for this are very ignorant and knows nothing of the fact that people are cruel and only wants to use you to meet their own ends sometimes...

Sometimes? Heh, it's the way of the world, if someone can improve their way of life by slitting the next man's throat then they will... The trick is not to be the one with the slit throat.

Almost as bad as the lie. "give us your money and you will have an afterlife". Not so much an internet scam but it was much more affective for hundreds of years.

 Its so funny. I received e-mails like that a lot of times, even lost counting of how many fake names and how many names of countries that was "supposed to be" about.

On the other hand, I *hate* people who try to take advantage of others. I *love* when someone gives cheaters and cum golpist a taste of their own remedy!

Did you guys read about those that made fun of this mafia that keeps sending out those emails ? they tricked them into taking pictures of themselves and holding up signs that said Ass Hole or something like that..

There was a site about urban legends with tons of e-mails like that. If I find the link I will post here.

There is currently several e-mails going round claiming to be from UK banks, that say they are updating their databases and for you to go and log on to keep your online banking active.. then gives you a link to a ghost site that looks exactly like the original site, but is not secure...

also along the same lines are e-mails supposedly from microsoft sending you a security patch... actually attatched to the e-mail....

so if you get ANY e-mails like this... don't follow the link in the e-mail.. go to the official site and check there first...

I keep getting offers for skin, hair and nail improvement products and such.

*spam*spam* I hate spam e-mail *spam*spam*

Which is exactly why I gave up all hope in mainstream e-mail addresses (ie. Hotmail) years ago!

I still have flashbacks of getting over 20 new spams a day...

I've been using my hotmail for 3 years now. So far no one has added it to any spam lists.

I have an account at the U of Minnesota that is still active from when I worked there. I give everyone who I suspect will spam me that email address. It is chock fucking full with crap! But my trusty hotmail account is still clean.

I did that with my school e-mail account in high school. But I use my school e-mail this year, so I created a spam account at hotmail. I've only had a grand total of three spam e-mails to my Yahoo! account (it a little less then three years).

Well of course I dont read junk e-mail anymore - but on my first days on the net, I used to read them. I was so naive and innocent... But even back them I did not believe anything those e-mail said :)

They are so stupid... Even though my mail is clearly one belonging to a female, I receive offers for viagra and "**** enlargement". Duh!

Anyway.
Hey Ugly John, thanks for the link, that is exactly the one I was refering to.

And while we are at it, some fun:
