General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Aside from New Vegas, I am now playing Hitman Absolution. Not too bad. Not too bad at all.

I must say, Hitman Absolution is kicking my ass on Hard. I'm at the nun part right now, which I find myself wanting to blow through guns a blazing.

I manage on Hard but I just can't imagine doing it on Purist. Anyone here done it?

Sword of the Stars

A good space 4X strategy game with lots of unique mechanics. Takes a long time to learn since there's a lot of small details and not much information in game. I'm lucky I have a friend who loves turn-based strategy and is always online at the time I most often have to play.

AI War

This game is worth seeing if only for being probably the most ambitious single game I've ever seen.

It's a RTS that due to being both huge and slow-paced plays almost like a turn-based strategy. It takes over 10 hours to complete a single match. You can only play against the AI co-operatively with other players. The AI IS INCREDIBLY INTELLIGENT TO THE POINT OF SCARING ME. I say that as a huge fan of RTS that has played all the big games and all of them online competitively. There are numerous times it seems like the AI is actually a human player. It NEVER does standard similar attacks. One time it will have many small groups in different places with different units. Then a huge group of one unit in one place. Also the depth of stuff in the game is beyond huge. There might be over 200 different units and many have unique and special abilities that take skill to use.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Nope. Highest I ever went to was Hard, and I felt that was a bit challenging already, but I'll eventually get around to trying it out on Purist.

Finished playing Silent Hill 4, which I have to say is a lot better than I had anticipated. That and well, lots of people don't speak very well about this entry, but I felt it was better done than SH3. Felt like everything about it was meaningful.

Going through Mirror's Edge now and other than a few annoyances here and there, it's been very enjoyable.

XCOM EU on Classic Ironman.

I have lost over fifty to one hundred men in a year.

EDIT: Turns out I only lost 40. It looked like more on the wall.

Left craving for some fast paced doom action so i started playing the plutonia.wad for zdoom and playing it with brutal doom mod in ultra violence.

Pretty good level design in it and lots of demons to gun down. Good times.

I'm finally going to finish Fallout 2, at last. I had played it before, after I finished the first but I didn't want to finish it at the time. Now I do. I've made a non combat character. I tagged outdoorsman, sneaking and speech and have the good willed and slim build traits.

I didn't suspect at first that it would be very hard, but maybe it will start to be. Are there any tips for a newcomer to fallout 2 to deal with any problems that might arise, having this character?

Not playing with the restoration project by the way, that is reserved for my second playtrough.

So I got Dishonored. I have already beaten the first 3 missions on hard full Non Lethal. The Game is AWESOME. Art Direction, gameplay, branching paths everything is looking quite good.

Ayup. Only thing that drags it down is relatively poor graphics and animation quality. A masterpiece otherwise.

Also, that means you're about to tackle the Lady Boyle's Last Party mission. One of the best gaming experiences, ever. Be sure to check the guest ledger.

The Knife of Dunwall DLC is also pretty neat, if you don't mind the price. It's only 3 missions, but they're just as open-ended as the main game's. But finish the campaign before getting it, because spoilers ahoy. The Dunwall City Trials is a bunch of fun and pretty creative challenge maps, but nothing essential.

Jeez, that was a pretty long ''I agree'' post.

Yeah, that mission was great, I am in the "find Daud's base" mission right now (to not give any spoilers) All non Lethal as of now, but when I was tying to evade the guards some of them plummetted to their deaths whe nI shot them with SLeeping Darts, Does that count against my kill count?, because I had it at 0 XD

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. It's a very interesting Western FPS, the cutscenes did get a little annoying but overall you were constantly in action.

I think it does. The game has a broad sense of ''killed''; for example, leaving a knocked out guy lying somewhere only for him to be devoured by rats is considered a kill. Basically, I think that if you were the last to interact with the person, anything that happesn to it counts against your kill tally. That's how I remember it anyway.

And yeah, you pretty much have to use sleep darts against the Whalers, sneaking up on them is almost impossible.

I just played over 5 hours of Endless Space today and it's great. For a space 4X strategy I was disappointed about the map being flat (instead of full 3D) and that you had no direct control of battles, but the amount of depth in expansion/resources/economy is very deep and inter-related probably more than any other 4X I've ever played.

Also even though there's no voice acting or visible characters the game has some well-written lore and neat ideas. I love the faction entirely composed of one man and his clones: Horatio.

I should check that out. Still waiting for Space Rangers HD.

I'm checking out UnRealWorld since it went Freeware. It's a survival rouge-like set in iron-age Finland. My first character died after one turn.

Oh, and Project Zomboid just came out with it's first major update in ~ a year. It looks really good. Some desprately needed UI streamlining, streaming map (no more loading new cells) and a whole slew of other new features/fixes make this a game really worth checking out. Especially since it's 5 euros or 7 US for a lifetime license.(The price will raise when they finally release a full version) I personally would pay double that for what the previous versions have provided. It is an alpha though, keep that in mind.

I just beat Dishonored on low Chaos, the last fight is kind of ant iclimatic when you just choke him unconcious, It was a long way getting there on Hard with low chaos.

Now it's time to go on a Full Chaos Run. Let's fuck Dunwall up.

Wait for the High Chaos final mission.

It is glorious.
