General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

It feels like this is the way that companies that were outed as being pieces of shit (Rockstar got in hot water two years ago for promoting incredibly shitty work enviroment) try to redeem themselves. It's clear they don't actually give a shit about gays, fat people and mentally ill people, this is just their way to seem like they turned a new leaf.

But yes, the company that made Hot Coffee (a literal fucking minigame) for San Andreas and did a bunch of other controversial stuff is censoring re-releases of their older games. It's just too funny, the irony is too delicious.

Over correction over stuff nobody complained about, not even weird tumbloroids, but no changes the actual fucked up stuff they do. Typical. Like the RE4VR version that removed inocuous lines of dialogue where Leon mildly flirst with Hunnigan, literaly zero people ever called for that.

This is probably one of the dumbest censorships i have ever seen. Mild flirting is now problematic? Jesus Christ.

The new GTA remasters don't have the good songs so you have to mod them in or some shit.

I don't it's even considered problematic, everyone is equally confused by the decision because nobody ever complained about that, suits being weird.

The bad thing is the remasters are made in Unreal engine, the models look like shit, the entire game is basically bug ridden, and you can no longer buy the original version.

The HD version is still on Steam tho. That one has not cut dialogue, that was only on the VR version.

Unable to buy the original version is the final salt in that particular wound. Same thing with the Dark Souls "remaster" which straight up just looks like a worse version of the original game, and it has entirely replaced it.

I had to rush through F.E.A.R faster than I would have liked, but I really enjoyed it. Yes, it's an old game and not what I'm used to, but it was actually quite a refreshing change.

From what I understand, Alma was locked away because of her powers, experimented on, and gave birth to the player character at 15, who was taken away? Harlan also says that she died, so she's like a very, VERY angry spirit? I was a little uneasy wondering when she was gonna pop up next. She gave me quite a jump scare a couple of times, lol. And I did not expect her to appear on the helicopter. Is it worth it to get the other games? From what I've looked up, the second game isn't as good, but it's not terrible either.

The only complaint I have is that there was no subtitle option and I'm hard of hearing. I used earbuds, of course, but since I'm almost completely deaf in my right ear, I only kept the left one in and that gets annoying after awhile. This is what I have to do when listening to music too. Ah, such fun, lol. But no big deal. The game was a lot better than I expected!

In my opinion, no. FEAR 2 is basically Call of Duty with some FEAR elements (mainly the school level) and FEAR 3 is also Call of Duty with next to no FEAR elements. Only thing i found enjoyable was playing as Fettel in FEAR 3. The worst thing about the sequels is how the AI gets dumber than a rock when the AI in FEAR 1 was great.

Play the FEAR 1 expansions though, those are actually pretty solid.

Odd, last time i played, there was a subtitle option.

Hell yeah glad you liked it. It's a great game. If you enjoyed that style of gameplay then there is a demo out for an upcoming spiritual successor called Trepang2. FEAR 2 isn't as good but it's still a mostly solid game, feels less wild in my opinion and like Norzan said, more Call of Duty-esque. FEAR 3 is better as a co-op experience and yeah mostly whoever can play as Fettel. The game overall was very lacking in fun and any spooky moments. The multiplayer was a bunch of modes that you'd like to see in a FPS without any of the normal modes that keep a FPS multiplayer alive. Big let down overall. Would still replay it with a friend.

Told ya so. That's my favorite type of FPS.... The ones where you shoot the things that make you shit your pants.

Now play Deus Ex.

Oh man, Halo is awesome! I was never really interested in it because I always thought it was just some overhyped Microsoft game. I had no idea it had anything to do with space and aliens, which is right up my alley. It's amazing that the first game was released in 2001, and I have managed to avoid any and all spoilers. That's 20 years!

Now, I'm off to find out what exactly the Halo is and why The Covenant is so disdainful of humanity.

At one time I thought this song was about in-world Spartan USNC recruits; later I realized that it seems to be about players playing multiplayer Halo 2.

Biggest flaw of Halo 1 is many areas are copy pasted. Still a great game though. I've yet to attempt Halo 1 and 2 solo legendary (beat it co-op many times on legendary). I can do most of Halo 3 on solo legendary easily and Reach is easy besides that stupid space combat section. I remember when I was insane at multiplayer as a teen and still found Reach's solo legendary hard. It's not so bad when you're older and have learned to manipulate AI and trick systems in the game. You can essentially carry 3 weapons easily in Halo if you just swap while moving forward between two of them. Every time you swap, the one you throw on the ground is thrown in front of you so you don't move too much slower. Only issue with that in Reach and 3 is if you happen to drop a weapon as a checkpoint saves, sometimes it'll delete that weapon.

Halo 3's hardest level (on solo legendary) is Cortana because it's just annoying as fuck with some of the angles and how the enemies work. Covenant in Halo 3 is one of my favorite levels though.

Finished the base game of Dragon Quest 4, and god damn does the final boss has some awesome phase transitiions.

That is some sexy 2D sprite work.
