Good LAN games for old computers?

Gekko

It Wandered In From the Wastes
We set a LAN sessions with my brother. We have two oldie computers where the "faster" computer is celeron 400MHz (w00t) and slower is 233MHz (even more w00t). So far I found out that old games can still rock in LAN and they can be still very funny. Games we play are GRAND THEFT AUTO and allmighty DIE BY THE SWORD!

Any other good suggestions?

Only two computers? Then I suggest playing strategy games. Off the top of my head, Heroes of Might & Magic 3, Sudden Strike, Europa Universalis 2, Close Combat series, Red Alert 2, Total Annihilation and TA: Kingdoms should run fine on both rigs.

Other fun games to try: Unreal Tournament (should run great if both computers have decent video cards), Diablo II, Carmageddon 2 and NFS 3: Hot Pursuit.

Try Age Of Empires 1, and I think even Age Of Empires 2 should run quite fluently on these systems if you choose smaller maps.

How about Dungeon Keeper? Anything else I would recommend for such old computers has been mentioned already.

Does anyone know what might be causing the problem that Carmageddon 2 doesn't see the other computer?

Hexen II (if any of you have that ol' goody around) I believe the classic Doom series... And of course, half-Life and its add-ons.

For those who have ever played the Marathon Series (great game, even for a MAc). That was lots of fun.

And Diablo. A true classic.

Theme hospital supports multiplayer?

It supports network play. Benn along time since i played..but i seem to recal playing network

/heads off to play Theme Hospital

I believe that in Theme Hospital you compete against the opponents much like in the single player game. You never actually see the other player's hospital, you are just competing for how much of the population chooses to go to your hospital. At least that's how I think it works, been a while for me too.

Man Liero thats a great game but it doesnt support multiplyer online as far as I know.

I used to play that on every break from 7th grade up to 10th, and thats about every mod ever made. My friend even made a WW2 mod for it.

EDIT: It does support multiplayer. Cool.

Old game i found in my cd pile... Metal Marines by Namco (minscape) fun to play in vs mode
