Guide to fan-made new adventure with original Fallout gameplay

That's a wild guess about the lack of sequel with Fo1-Fo2 gameplay leading to more mods. My memories of those times are blurry. (plus i think i've discovered the IP by the time of FoT release)

About the time to make the mod, i guess it would take less time with less struggle, but it would probably remains very time consuming.

Added 13V and Dangerous Quest!, both made by Lich.

The guy seems to have been already famous in the modding community when he made those mods. Yet, i can't find his other works so far... (maybe there was no other adventures. I saw he made a lot of arts)
In my experience a lot of mods that don't have English translations are practically unheard of aside from the big name ones. I found a lot of Russian and Czech (I think it was) mods in old archives that are simply not available to us.

I added some installation and settings tips for those who might have troubles to get those mods going.
It might not be the most data\time cost effective way to handle it, but the point is to maximise the chances to get those mods running, by anyone who tries.

Don't hesitate to tell me if that looks too confusing or if i forgot some good tips.

If you have your eyes on something specific, you can request a translation and maybe it'll become available... with time.

Well, to have our eyes into something specific, we have to know the intel.
It seems that most of the untranslated mods aren't given much coverage outside the communities sharing the same language.
I might look into those at some point, but not right now. There is already a lot of identified mods to try and provide intel about.

Added a truckload of mods.
This trick from Lexx allowed me to save a lot of time and data on small mods. (still took a lot of time)

Most of the new additions are very shorts complete mods, demos of unfinished mods, or even concepts of mods lacking playable demos, that i listed so we would no longer wonder if we missed something.

I still had a couple of nice discoveries, like Rock Collecting Mod, New Arroyo, Home Sweet Home and F2 Setting Improvement.

Also added Megamod and Global Mod, despite not having played them recently. I think it makes more sense to include them now. I would probably check their entries again, later on.

From now on, it will be a much slower pace. First, i will be much less available. Second, i mostly got rid of the small mods. So i will spend more time playing each of the remaining mods, than writing about them. So, updates will be more spaced out, but i plan to keep going.

PS: 2000th post not wasted.

Added Oblivion Lost, Mutants Rising, Huarenmod, Survivor Mod, Mack_The_Knife's deep gameplay impact mod, Second Apocalypse, the Wasteland Merc trilogy and their addons.

Not that i haven't finished, nor uninstalled Oblivion Lost and Last Hope, as i am confused about what i should do next, in order to move forward. I want to be able to finish them someday.

Added Fallout 1.5 Resurrection, Fallhope, Fallout 1 demo on Fallout 2 by FeelTheRads and many others. (mostly unfinished & untranslated foreign mods)

The to do list is starting to get shorter...

Good job :) Maybe in the future we could make a list of New Vegas big story mods (Autumn Leaves, New California - coming out on 23 October!, Frontier etc).

I probably won't do that myself. I loved the lore of New Vegas, but i can't stand the gameplay.

If i am still motivated after i am done with the classics, i might do the same with Fallout:Tactics mods, but i won't make any promise at this point.

Added informations about FOnline and other fanmade engines.
Also updated fixt and fallout wars entries.

Added a bunch of minor mods.

I think i have tracked down most smaller and forgotten mods.

So, here are the last entries that should be added and then i am done for 2019 :

Playable
- Fallout of Nevada (i am currently playing vanilla edition)
- Olympus 2207 (Will play the english demo after Nevada)
- Fallout of Nevada Crazy Edition (i might replay Last Hope first)
- Fallout Jackal by Foxx (there is a demo that might get translated in english)

Dead but relevant : (not sure if there is something to play, but i need to check)
- The Tangut Prophecy by CathayanDragon (Fonline Engine)
- Arcanum Reborn (russian Arcanum port on Fonline engine)

Undead : (they keep being abandoned and worked on again)
- What remains (Fonline engine) by SurfSolar,
- Van Buren, a Fallout RPG adventure by Hexer and his team,

Nothing to play yet, but hopefully still in developpment
- FOnline: Ashes of California, by John Porno (Fallout 1&2 Coop)
- Whispering Winds by Lexx,
- Fallout:Sonora (big russian mod announced recently),
- fo1 to fo2 conversion by Sduibek (dude101's thread)

I won't be seeking for russians or other untranslated foreigners mods, with no advertizement in english speaking communities, scrolling through google translation of russian or polish websites, without knowing if the links still work.

That being said, if you are part of a non-english speaking community and are aware of some noteworthy untranslated mod, feel free to mention it here so we can add those entries.
And even if they are not that much noteworthy, that is not a problem.
I am just done with the investigation part. That doesn't mean i would be agains't adding new entries.

I thought these are completely dead as well.

It seems that Van Buren is on hold, but the dev didn't seem to give up on it. For What Remains, SurfSolar was still at it in 2016. Dunno if he definitely stopped afterward or just slowed down. But it seem both those projects were on\off for years. I wouldn't give up on them.

Also checked for Arcanum Reborn. It isn't dead yet. It just greatly slowed down. (last confirmation in 2018)

Added Arcanum Reborn, The Tangut Prophecy, Van Buren: A Fallout RPG Adventure, FOnline Last Breath, FOnline: Ashes of California, What remains, Fallout: Sonora, Last Hope 1 and Whispering Winds

To be added (all have something playable)
- Fallout of Nevada (i am currently playing vanilla edition)
- Olympus 2207 (Will play the english demo after Nevada)
- Fallout of Nevada Crazy Edition (i might replay Last Hope first)
- Fallout Jackal by Foxx (there is a demo that might get translated in english)
- fo1 to fo2 conversion by Sduibek (there is a prototype, but i am not sure yet if i will try it)

----

There is an announcement on Van Buren Facebook page in 2018, saying that the project was still active. (crawling pace, and without Hexer)

Still can't believe that he got a C&D from Bethsoft. Nobody else got anything, so why would he?
