Half Life Series and Story Discussion

HL1 (and Op:For) was far superior to Blue Shift, HL2, EP1, EP2,... seriously. well, except in the boobs department, but that's not really relevant.

and that said, get your mind out of the gutter, TVD. there'll be no sex in the HL series. a peck on the cheek perhaps, but that's as far as it'll go.

besides, some tension between the two works way better than having them actually get together. that should be obvious to even the most crappy story writers.

I think Half-Life 2 is not as good as the prequel, but only in the same way that Fallout 2 is not as good as its prequel. It did some things better, but some things worse. Both are still worthy of playing though.

Opposing Force was an awesome addon, and I hope Adrian Shephard returns somehow...someday.

In regards to how Gordon can go through two straight days of action without sleeping...I'd say the suit takes care of that. It propably has enough drugs stored in there to make Gordon higher than the Pope for a whole leapyear. Propably has a stash of Viagra in there somewhere, which Alyx will think is quite handy later on...

HL2 isn't a prequel. After HL you were put into stasis by the gman until you were needed again. That also covers why you haven't aged a single day, while the rest of the BM crew is old.

Also: What the fuck, fallout 2 wasn't a prequel either. Have you played either game?

I think he means that they weren't as good as the games that came before them, not that they were prequels.

I agree with you, but I just can't help to be surprised that in all the games I've ever played I've never been hugged let alone in first person perspective. I just can't imagine them not using first person to do other things now.

A kiss would certainly be more developed without being innapropriate except that I can imagine a lot of lonely PC gamers actually kissing the screen in response.

Thanks for that link BuxBaum. Kinda funny since I spent a while browsing the wiki for HL hoping to find a "plot summary/story outline", but still couldn't find out what happened between one and two. However looking at the vortigaunt link and others that had to do with specific things I was able to find lots of small tidbits that relate the game worlds together.

Also this should give us all a laugh;
