What is the record for highest amount of damage ever inflicted by you in a single attack? Why not post your highest here?

What is your highest damage score in a single attack? What enemy was it against? With which weapon? Single shot or burst fire? With what damage perks?

Against unarmored targets, however, the Avenger can do the highest damage possible in the game: with the relevant perks (Bonus Ranged Damage x2, Living Anatomy) it can do over 800 HP of damage, with a theoretical maximum of 965 HP if every round hits the intended target. Lucky criticals on unarmored targets can exceed 2500 HP, with a theoretical maximum of 2885 HP.

I set a new personal best today. It happened on level 3 of the cathedral. I had a gatling laser, two ranks of bonus ranged damage, sniper, and better criticals. I got in the face of a mutant guard and opened fire, inflicting a whoopping 726 points of damage!
 
182 to a Floater in Fallout 1 with the Gatling Laser.

I haven't been playing the original Fallouts long okay...
 
Just yesterday, I dealt more than 1500 damage points against a Brotherhood of Steel Paladin when I actually tried an evil playthrough! I had a minigun with both ranks of Bonus Ranged Damage and was right in front of them!
 
The wonders of Fallout 1 and 2's engine, is that if the first hit on a burst is a critical, ALL OF THE OTHER ROUNDS ARE TOO!

Considering some weapons fire like 40 times in a single turn, that's 40 critical hits, jesus.
