Hey, guys, girls.

Does anybody know how to extract the character voices from the game? I mean the ones you assign to your party as their cue voices when you click on them and so on.

It seems that you need something called the ISC(Infinity Sound Converter).

Hope these will help:

Of course, I could have helped a lot more if you were looking for Arcanum sounds/arts.

No, the character sounds are normal WAVs. If you don't have a full install (which should dump these files in the sounds folder) then I believe the unpacking program you want is called WinBiff. Actually you probably need an installed game anyway.

Apparently, they're not, although they look like WAV's... Tried opening them in many players, to no avail. I do have a full install, and WinBiff only extracts the sounds into .bam format.

Odd, as the instructions for making your own sets say "the sound files must be 22 kHz, 16-bit, mono WAV files". Perhaps the game reads both formats, but the included files are all WAVC. Well, ISC should do the trick.

I used to have a file from PS-T, Deionarra's "I shall wait for you in Death's Hall, My Love" play when I shut my computer down. Wish I could remember how to do it... it would drive my gf crazy.

I've got kind of a similar request. I installed BGI and BGII again and finally want to play it in one rush with the "Tutu" program. Worked all nicely.

But as I have played IWD I and II to death I became quite used to the voices there (halve the loot is mine etc ;P ) - is there any download or way I can put them in my BG directory so I can choose the IWD sounds in the game for my character?

(I hope its ok for a doublepost?)

Some small update: I found a soundconverter to get my IWD soundfiles in the BGI/II directory. You can find it here: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index_soundsets2.php (its the "Icewind Dale Sound Pack Converter"

The .bat files seem to work too, but they dont actually do anything. :/ Wooz, have you somehow solved the issue or can you try to make those sounds play in Baldurs Gate?

I converted IWD1-2 sounds to BG1-2 by painstakingly comparing the sample lists (found in text files in the respective sounds directories) and copying and renaming as appropriate.

Geez, that sounds like some big effort, especially as I only want two of the packs from the Heart of Winter Addon. Seems like I will be using your method then, Per. :/ Thanks!

I got an error while trying to launch ISC
"Run-time error '339':
Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I have the comdlg32 file in the folder. Now how do I execute it?
Btw, using Windows 7 64bit here.
