Community manager Matt Grandstaff is next up to the bat. We'll never know if he played Fallout.
What’s your job at Bethesda?

I’m the Community Manager here at Bethesda, so I spend a lot of time in the forums and then sharing information with the developers. No I can’t go downstairs and make the changes myself, but I can pass on what people are talking about. I also co-manage the Bethesda Blog. Gotta say, I have tons of respect for the bloggers of the world. It’s not easy trying to come up with new content all the time, especially since we’re trying to stay focused on Bethesda news. Maybe I should start posting about Britney Spears or iPods…that would help my dilemma. As a part of the marketing department, there’s plenty of other stuff I work on, but I don’t think you’d find it particularly interesting.

In the future, like maybe when Fallout is closer to shipping, I look forward to doing new stuff with the community: community events, podcasts, who knows?
Link: Inside the Vault - Matt Grandstaff.

Time to rev up the old hype engine! Gotta do it as you don't got not demo. Cause ya know, if the demo was good, then the game could actually maybe sell itself.

Scores points with me for the Commando game idea with the custom chain mail. Im gonna go work on my Arnold Schwarzenegger impressions now.

Looses points with me on the fact that he is not a PC gamer, and Fallout is the peak of PC gaming. But being just a middle man and not a developer, its pretty even.

Losses points with me considering that he might be the reason why fallout 3 doesn't ring a bell with the previous games, since he might not be telling the devs what the fans want, and may be just browsing Bethesda's own forums all day, deleting anything that doesn't suit his own tastes while jerking off in his office all day.

Scores points by being a Metal Gear Solid fan, the series that actually makes console gaming worth my time.

Overall score. 3/10.

We'll never know if he played Fallout.

Now we know:

I’ve played the first game for a few hours, but not nearly enough at this point. I haven’t played Fallout 2.

I enjoy working with the fanbase…it certainly makes my job more interesting with such a strong following for the series.

Hey, they've only had a few years. Maybe they'll all have played the game by the time they lock down the perspective and turn structure.

Working with fanbase of a game he doesn't even like?

I guess he just loves the feeling of superiority as we rail against Beth's ideas and changes ineffectively, either that or trolling websites at random to fill his day, whichever is more malign. :D

I've had a... "funny".. episode with mr. Grandstaff today, after which i lost all respect i had for him.

Is simply working at Bethesda a trigger for turning into jackasses? Sheesh.

i somehow prefer this attitude to attitude of certain Todd the Fallout geek, i dunno why

I have no intention to elaborate, i am well aware of the "no cross-site trolling" rule, so i'll leave it at that.

Actually, when i think about it, there is not a single major face left at Bethesda i hold any sort of respect for after this day. That's kinda sad.

You could have put a link in your post. I'm not sure as this is considered to be cross-site trolling or not.

I'll respect wichever way you want to go with this, though.

I believe it is, and i'm not about to risk getting a stupid strike, so i will neither link anything, nor will write any details about what happened.

Some community manager he turns out to be.

Tsk! Guys, don't you realize that all you need to do is throw a lot of money at a game to make it work!
