Installing Megamod on Steam version of Fallout 2 > Issues

First time out of the vault
Hello,

I need your help as I can't find the way to install the megamod on Fallout 2 steam version. I process as following:
1) Install Fallout 2 from Steam
2) Copy Megamod to game folder
3) Launch Processdat2 file
4) The game is not launching because request Master Data File or CD

I am not sure how to proceed and I did not find anything useful on the forum so far.

I'm in a similar boat that I'm having trouble getting the Megamod to work with high resolution. changing the ddraw.ini doesnt do anything. Is there a definitive stickie guide to how to get the latest Megamod and HighRes running on windows 10 without searching through threads?
 
I managed to launch the game properly finally. It was needed to edit some accesses to file.

I am stuck with the resolution now...

I gave up fpr tonight... If you find something, don't forget to post and I ll do the same :)
 
Sorry for thread necromancy but did you guys fix this? I have just the megamod installed on the steam version of f2 and I have the crappy resolution in game. I've changed the ddraw.ini as well with no effect.
 
Really sorry guys. I got the resolution working through using classic version only which again has to be run through steam. Thing is the game won't let me save at all. I've tried searching the internet and have found nothing that has worked. I can't run as administrator I don't think as it's through steam (if I turn out to be an idiot make sure to tell me so) and I'm running on Windows 10. Sorry again though.
 
If You can't run as administrator make sure to install the game somwhere else than C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86) the cd and resolution settings should be in F2_res.ini or something of similar name.

I reinstalled the game into my disc drive as opposed to simply through programs/steam etc. Ran it as an administrator this way and yet still I cannot save the game. I can't really find any solutions anywhere either. I can save the game without the megamod downloaded though. Somehow I doubt the mod is unable to save for everyone so I'm not sure what is wrong on my end. Once again I apologise if I am missing anything obvious.

sometimes processdat2 errors and causes this,try reinstalling and saveing in a slot u havent saved before,and delete the failed save slots
 
suggets to make an install of the game and copy it to ur play folder,then u can simple copy folders,but yea game and mod
