Intro...why they die?

I already posted this n the General,but post it here also

i was thinking about something and i cannot find the answer:why did the enclave kill those people in fo2`s intro (when they leave the vault).it is not because the fev,because they (i guess) dont wanna use it on deadbodies...
any ideas?

My theory is that they killed that first family, so the other people of V13 would come quietly and without resistance.
 
i still dont understand something:i seems to me that the vaults didnt know about the enclave ,like i didnt find ANY sign of that in vc (so they didnt tell them).so what i dont understand is that how did they know when poeple are leaving the vault

The vaults did not know about the enclave but the enclave knew about the vaults. If you talk to the prez on the oil rig he will explain that it was an experiment. If the enclave knew about them, i would not be surprised if they had spies or scouts or some warning system installed that would give them a sign as to when people would leave the vault. Maybe the overseeërs played a part in this. Or maybe the enclave themselves gave the signal to leave the vault. If you talk to Lynette in VC she will tell you that the service monitors probably gave the signal to leave the vault, but if you pres her for details she seems not to know how this occured and she has no proof of it neither.

The Vault in the vid isnt V13, its not in cave and it hasn't got a big 13 on the door wheely thing.
 
i think its v13...its in a semi cave....i think they did it because they needed to expend some surplus 5mm ammo and those nice people were ready and able to take it :) but i think the way they knew the vaults were opening is because

vault tec=military contractor deal

enclave=remnants of united states goverment..still has some info and tech from the former country


therefor


vault tec-gives some kinda tracer to united states gov to coordinate repopulation after the holocost

enclave springs up and posesses the technology given to their ancestors


they monitor the vaults realizing they need to exterminate the 'contaminated humans" to respawn the united states



summarizing,vault tec gave the u.s. a computer system to take charge of reseeding of the country,the united states is ripped up by bombing and the fled govermental officials begin the enclave,they get the misguided fear of radiation mutants and eliminate all the affected humans to restart the united states goverment..thats my theory
 
If they really killed those Vault Dweller maybe they killed their Overseer (or Commander. Those Computer tecnician at the Vault 13 saqid they bought a computer to replace their Overseer).
Or I've got some better idea.

Yup, those enclave perhaps just scared them with a burst from their Minigun (by the way, they're not wasting the 5 mm ammo. Their minigun was Vindicator not an Avenger. The Minigun colors are white not olive drab). Those Vault Dwellers are not trained to fight such trained soldier armed to their teeth with the air support (those Vertibird). They probably just surrendered to the Enclave. By the way those Deathclaws didn't say anything about "Mass Murder".
