JE Sawyer on the GRA item pack

Well New Vegas didn't win Game of the Year, Red Dead Redemption did. Right? I forget.

There's no such thing as "the" Game of the Year award. There's lots of awards like that and New Vegas has won some of the minor ones.

Hm. I was just going along with Spike TV's VGAs. My mistake. xD

So each "new" weapon, mod and whatnot will have the "GRA" suffix added to the name? Really? That'd be even more of a dealbreaker for me, constantly reminding me as the player "Here, this is an item we've screwed you over with 4$ , kthxbai" whenever I spot one in some merchants inventory.

I'm sorry Obsidian, but I call bullshit. They've built up a rather good and pleasant reputation when it came to well thought out, worth their money DLC, but this garbage puts them in some bad light.

For PC ubermenschen, maybe. For console players? It's a godsend.

If you are implying that I wrote this because I am a "PC Uebermensch" - I am not. I am unfortunately playing it on the console. But I still don't see a reason, not a single one, to buy this pack.

The worst is, that if people will buy this package a lot, that we'll probably see even more stuff like that in the future. :?

I would gladly pay those four bucks if most of those 27 weapons were all unique (and I'm talking "Holorifle" unique) and not a bunch of reskins, but it seems like half of those weapons will be recycled content/barely reskinned/blah.

Maybe Euclid's C-Finder? Heh.

While illogical, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they put a chest somewhere with free Archimedes II charges. It's not like Old World Blues' rewards weren't overpowered and overkill on already easy game.

Geez, it's just one weapon pack DLC, you don't *have to* buy it. Although they could give it for free (CD Projekt certainly would), it's no tragedy.

I'm glad that they still support the game, four good DLCs each offering unique experience and just one silly weapon pack is not a bad deal if you ask me, especially since the last one is in no way obligatory.

From what I understand the (GRA) tag serves simply to differentiate those weapons that were already present in the base game, but that in this version accept mods from the DLC.

Just see them as Gun Runner modified weapons that now allow attachments. :p

This x 1000

I would happily pay a couple of euros for DLC with worthwhile content (I bought all previous FNV DLC full priced) but will never start supporting this nickel and diming BS business.

This type of useless "add more guns" DLC should be free or not exist at all.

Because people are already buying stuff like this?

There's tons of DLCs like this one, Bioware charge for clothes and Activision for maps to use in CoD just to name a few.
Heck, even Apple survive from micro-transactions, almost charging the air you breath in their products.

Future? This is happening from a long time now.

My New Vegas game has survived so far without DLCs. I've got PC mods to expand my game for now, and for free! I'll save my money for a "Complete" edition of the game, or whatever they end up calling it. I got FO3 GOTY for $30!

I never even got F3 or any of it's DLC. Those 5 days were enough for me to come to the conclusion that the game is horrendous. Although I did end up borrowing it later from a friend who did buy it (not the GOTY edition unfortunately) and did all the side quests. Seeing how I'm already buying all the DLC's for New Vegas separately; I might as well get the remaining two (haven't gotten OWB and waiting on LR) and be done with it.

Fallout 3's quests are worth doing for their creative structure, though the game in general isn't great.

OWB is a must-play.

Sorta off-topic but is anyone writing an official NMA review?

I wish I could wait that long. :P

While some of F3's quests are nicely done (prime example being Blood Ties), most suffer from illogical game setting, i.e. an organisation fighting for basic human rights for androids(!!!)

And while Dead Money has better story and writing, OWB is the most cohesive one, where every aspect of it is polished and enjoyable.

OWB was already reviewed by Tagaziel. Did you miss it? For some bizarre reason no one commented on it.

I actually think there was something wonky with that - the article never showed up among the unread threads for me. I only found it indirectly somehow.

Well, WUE newsposted it and zip was the response. Darndest thing. Never seen an NMA article get no response.

I tried to add at least something. Maybe we all never saw it due to a bug. NMA reviews are always top-notch. (especially yours BN, on other sites I mean)

Couldnt have said it better myself. As a PC player, this is not nearly as lucritive as if I owned the game for my PS3. When an ObsidianIte sees http://www.newvegasnexus.com/ and the 1000+ available UNIQUE weapon meshes, it is no wonder they feel this is a logical step. (classic fallout weapons as the prime example, http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37002) Anyway, I trust the BOZAR made by obsidian will be better than the PC mod Bozar.

It is no secret that the Bethesda/Obsidian camp has "stolen" ideas from the best mods from Fallout 3. While that may be considered shameful, I believe this is not ever a bad thing. Especially for the console crowd. I for one would be flattered, if anything, seeing my independent mod's ideas be realized by developers and integrated into the real game. Even Oscurio, who made great overhauls for Oblivian, is now an employee at.... (i forget, bethesda maybe)

Anyway, MASSIVE PROPS to the questionares, and the interviewee. Gaming journalism needs more tough questions being asked, even if some of them seemed a little harsh. Rock on to the face I see an interview with a head developer and not roll my eyes.

PS: Modding, in any form, is/can be as entertaining as playing the game. You learn software (GECK, blender/maya, scripting, NifScope, Gimp/ PS) , interact with a helpful community, and make changes to the game to suit your tastes. People voting/praising your mod is enough thanks; these are enthusiasts, not people out to make a buck. This aspect (IMO) is the saving grace for bethesda and I for one hope it continues to be supported. Hopefully the next step is for console gamers to be able to get mods just as easily. (I know there are ways to integrate some mods into x-box, but this should be easier/streamlined) They deserve it (again, IMO) since vanilla Fallout 3/NV is a game i could not even think to play without mods that cater to my tastes.

And no, i dont mean nudie mods. (fuck them) More like companion mods, AI/Combat tweaking/More guns/recipies/more loot rarity.

If you think NVNexus is all nudie mods, you are so wrong.

Here is something I waited a long time for, and never thought it would see the light of day. A true enthusiast must have made this, god bless him, even if it is not perfect, it is the real 10mm pistol from Hard Boiled/F1-F2

There's one nude mod that I really like the idea behind it, although I never experimented: Animated Prostitution.

The sex part graphically being showed is somewhat ankward, but the idea that you can survive, trade goods and earn money by selling your body is rather interesting. We are in the Wasteland, living in harsh conditions and in a city plagued by this, why can we participate then?

Of course there are some big problems, like the mentioned XXX, some option to turn it off would be good (not displaying when we have sex with Red Lucy do not diminish the experience one bit).
The other big problem in my opinion is there could be some repercution among factions, like you gainning fame in Freeside, but losing with the Followers, for example.
I think people's explotation isn't in the Followers agenda.
Also, there's the option to pimp your companions. OK, I'll bite, but all of them?

In the end this what makes the mod a simply "nude" one, instead something that could add to the game.

And why the fixation with anime? 90% of armors and body parts are always anime figures?

I replaced the shitastic 10mm with that one
