John Gonzalez Returns To Obsidian Entertainment.

I don't expect Obsidian to get the Fallout IP again. FNV was lightning in a bottle and trying to recapture the magic won't happen - that train has left the station. Time passes and abilities and memories fade. When they made FNV it was only six years after BOS and nine for Tactics. The only way I could see it happening is if Microsoft makes an executive decision to force Bethesda's hand as their production pace is slower than a snail's. Like, the TESVI teaser trailer is older than Skyrim was at the time of its release.
Imo Josh Sawyer & Obsidian in general understands Fallout better than Bethesda ever did since they got their incompetent hands on the IP. And even if Obsidian isn't the same as the one that made New Vegas, I would still risk to put my money on them to have another shot.

I personally believe that Bethesda understood the IP well enough...and chose not to care. They ruined the IP for profit sake; choosing to re-target FO3 towards their Elderscrolls demographic. Sure, there were devs on the game who had not played the Fallout series, and some whom had never heard of the Fallout series, but Emil & Pete were game reviewers at the [now defunct] Adrenaline Vault gamer-website. They knew about Fallout, and would have seen it, or played it.

They actually didn't understood Fallout because they had no reason to do it (and if they tried they couldn't). Because, yeah, all they wanted to do was make Elder Scrolls with guns.

You can create something that is meant to have X meaning and someone can take Y meaning out of it, Bethesda at the time understood it in their own way. I think F:BOS is an example of someone that did not understand the setting at all. Bethesda understood some of it, but the parts that they thought were important did not align well with us or necessarily the original creators.

Just what can Obsidian even do with Fallout now that Bethesda has literally nuked the lore of the West Coast Fallout games? No ncr, no legion, no shady sands, a bastardized Mr. House. Literally almost everything from New Vegas has been ruined and Bethesda plans to ruin more. Everything that Obsidian made and planned has been thrown into the garbage.

I certainly don't want to play a Fallout game that has to adhere to whatever nonsense the TV show has and did. Because, yes, i can easily see Todd wanting the next game regardless of who makes it to follow the crap in the TV show down to the last detail because that's how petty he is.

He absolutely knows that a lot of the fans of the original Fallouts and New Vegas didn't liked the crap in the TV show.

Exactly why I would not want a "New Vegas 2". As bad as Bethesda lore was, at least the West Coast and East Coast lore were separate. Until now.

I think he already stated that the tv show is fully canon.

He says that and proceeds to ignore most of it in the next Fallout game he's in it. But in this case, and i already said above, he might just actually stick to it just to spite fans of the old Fallouts.

He puts on a smiling face and makes jokes at his expense (the whole we heard our games are buggy thing from E3), but i wouldn't be surprised if he gets at least a bit upset behind the scenes when he reads or hears people shit on his games. Of course he handles it much better, his buddy Emil just gets massively triggered, rants online and just comes off as a massive butthurt idiot.

Edit: Although Todd would get a little speck of respect from me if he actually ignored the bullshit from the TV show in a future Fallout game. If there is anything to retcon from the franchise, it's the crap in the TV show.

I don't think they'd remove anything from the TV series, as that is the most exposure Fallout has ever had. Retconning it would cause too much confusion amongst new fans.
