Lonesome Road coming September 20th + weapon pack DLCs

Also Ulysses praying to the bomb? he is just standing there, I don't see him on his knees, he could be talking about it to you or whatever. The mutant people were also on the divide in Van Buren.

Ulysses has his pretty little oldworld flag strung up like a tapestry in front of the very thing that destroyed the old world and he's standing there with head bowed or suffering from scoliosis.
To me it even looks like a shrine with vague hints of the VD jumpsuit scene in Arroyo.

All told I'm tired of getting new vague types of mutant humans to kill every time I turn around. We don't need insert-a-noun-lurks to shoot at if they would add some other forms of gameplay that aren't just shooting hordes of stupid enemies.

There are already ghouls, muties, ghost people, lobotomites and all manner of mutated humanoid thingies to shoot without resorting to spikey orcs reskinned with glow in the dark doodads all over them.

I'd rather see bulletproof hillbillies if rehashing old ideas is just going to get us more of the same but with a new name.

Updated the news with details on the item pack from Sawyer. Can't help but still feel that $4 is far too much for what is essentially an item pack, but then again, guess they want to milk everything out of the title before Skyrim comes out.

No, seriously, fuck them (as in the publisher). They were doing so well on the DLC front and now they bring in this nickel-and-dime bullshit. 2 bucks for previously free enticing content? That's some horse armor right there.

JES can claim all he likes, paying 4 bucks for a weapons pack (oh sorry, "and achievements") is exactly what's wrong with DLC these days.

Luckily PC users don't have to bother. We got mods.

It looks like there might also be some quests/missions associated with the Gun Runners pack, as there achievements for doing stuff other than killing things with the new weapons. So could be some interesting extra content, a few side-quests.

The pack with the pre-order content seems a bit lame. And if they were going to do it, they should probably have done it a month after release. But the Gun Runners pack doesn't bug me.

Also, while us PC gamers scoff at it, on console they can't install a bunch of extra weapons and weapon mods. 23 new weapons is probably quite appealing if you are on Xbox or PS3. It's the equivalent of being able to install a really kick ass mod.

Chances are that I'll buy it for PC, but then I have more money than sense.

That street sing melee weapon looks interesting, I always tought the game needed some junk weapons. Still, nothing a MOD can't fix.

The "Gun Runner's Arsenal" reeks suspiciously of Horse Armour. I will not be paying good money for re-skinned weapons that will either be extremely overpowered or weaker than the vanilla weapons you can already find in game.

Scaly spore carriers! This is a magnificently creative new enemy for the DLC!

Seriously though, it's a bit lazy to just keep using re-skinned Trogs for "new creatures". I am not impressed.

I've seen free mods that add weapons that look better than those. Modders will have superior versions of all those weapons out probably about a week after they're released.

Just Bethesda trying to squeeze as much money out of this game as possible though I guess.

From JES's Formspring:
I specifically asked to make GRA because I wanted to show players, publishers, and developers that you could make a reasonably-priced weapon pack that added more than two retextures.

Well, that and because I wanted to add some more weapons and ammo types.

In any case, I feel that players will get a very good value for GRA. There's a lot of cool stuff in it.
<Sigh>...Who am I kidding, I can't hate a guy who is more accessible to fans that any developer I've seen. I guess I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one (and my $4).

Still, I'm getting the overwhelming feeling to get into the shower and start scrubbing.

So true. It just reeks of the quick dollar, even though I know Josh is kind of the Gun Nut and would probably love to include more gun stuff etc in there. But then again, even though I sympathisize with him, it is not better than all the other horse-armor like dlc. I mean, it's just some weapon. :S Are people really so loot obsessed that they want to buy this?

Of course this isn't the 90's (or even the 00's) so of course giving away free content is out of the question.

Then apparently Valve is stuck in the past... all their DLC is always free to PC players. Except on XBox where Microsoft makes them charge.

Weapons-pack DLC leaves a bad taste in my mouth. What's worse is, I'm probably going to buy it.

As for Lonesome Road, well, I hate to say it but

Edit: Is hard to tell, but I think Ulysses might actually have dreadlocks, instead of just the 'Blastback' haircut.

Wouldn't call it Horse Amour by a long shot, that was two models that were mostly cosmetic.
This DLC at least has a little weight to it.

And the difference is? All it does is add new weapons to the game. It adds nothing new in gameplay, just a few unique versions of weapons you can already find in the vanilla game. The addition is purely cosmetic.

Also this,

Is ripped straight out of Mothership Zeta. They were too lazy to change even a single detail on it.

I don't see the difference between this,

[spoiler:d5727cf052]

[/spoiler:d5727cf052]

and the vanilla chainsaw.

This,

[spoiler:d5727cf052]

[/spoiler:d5727cf052]

looks like a re-skinned anti-materiel rifle.

And this,

looks like a re-skinned rebar club.

I'm not impressed with Obsidian's work here. I think I could have done better quality work with just an hour of free time. Half of these are probably just going to be the vanilla weapons with huge stat boosts that will make you even more of a god.

Edit: This looks like a fan-made mod, and not a good one. This looks like one of the countless half-assed "got item" mods you can download from the Nexus for free.

I really don't see a reason that there needs to be a unique chainsaw considering how it's only available in a few places in the vanilla game and it rocks against pretty much everything already.

To me it seems on par with the prepatch Gobi sniper rifle: Extra shiny, but not a lot of extra utility when the vanilla version is already a one hit weapon.

Some free items added in Project Nevada that look tons better than the ones we've seen from this horse armour mod.

If you submitted something onto the nexus that looked like what we see in the screenshots, you'd be laughed at or considered a "new" modder. I'd expect more professional and better quality work from a company like Obsidian, not just some horse armour shit thrown together in half an hour to make a quick buck.

:wtf:

You seem to be fucking blind.

I will probably ending up getting the weapon DLC, new weapons, ammo types, weapon mods, and other things? for a measly 4 dollars, cool.

Seriously its 4 fucking dollars, and no one is asking you to buy it anyway.

I'll admit I was wrong about the Nuka Cola sign being a re-skinned Rebar club... it's clearly more of a shovel,
