Looking for Play Testers

First time out of the vault
Hi,

I've nearly finished my minor mod: Toxic Caves Redux.
The mod replaces a single location (the Toxic Caves) in Fallout2 with a modified edition of said location.

I'm looking for people who would like to test the mod and try to provide feedback and/or find bugs.

If interested, please PM me.
For questions etc., please reply to this topic.

Update
Ok, some more details about this mod.

Motivation: I always felt that the Toxic Caves felt like a rush job, like the developers had something more elaborate in mind, but never had the time to build it.

Goal: modify the location so that it does not introduce a whole new feel to the location, does not interfere with the canon lore and does not introduce any new game mechanics. Yet, make the location feel well rounded and polished.

Sneak peak (I could post complete screenshots, but that would spoil too much of the fun that comes from exploring an unknown location):

I would be most grateful to receive feedback on the balance of the various things: are skillchecks too hard? too easy? is the dished out damage to high, to low, just right? etc.

See attached zip file for the mod:

I think it'd be better if you could post some details about your Toxic Caves Redux mod, like screenshots or what this Redux is aiming to.

Is it rebalancing? Are there more skill checks? Are there new enemies or replacement? Are there map changes? Did you simply turn it into an obnoxious drearily long dungeon? Without details there isn't really anything of interest to playtest.

I can test it, where to download it?, also i just want to ask where to find a debug mode for F2 every link seems to be dead

Is it rebalancing? I did my best to keep the difficulty of the map about the same as it used to be. I did make sure the map is now consistent with how other (vanilla) maps work (i.e. you can, for example, now also use Electronic Lockpick MKII on the elevator door).

Are there more skill checks? Yes, there are more options, so you can choose to use different skills to get to the end.

Are there new enemies or replacement? None in appearance. I believe some might be a bit tougher.

Are there map changes? Many.

Did you simply turn it into an obnoxious drearily long dungeon? I hope not! The map it is somewhat expanded, but not a whole lot.

Looks solid, i will test it more tomorow, the only bug is that as you enter the area the camera appears in the center of the room, not players current location, but so far this is the only minor bug i encountered

I've only reached the Vault Entrance so far, however I'll likely keep exploring the whole place. Here are my thoughts so far:

There are a couple bugs here and there. As Dionis stated the camera appears in the center of the room. In addition, if you are doing the Smiley quest while exploring the ruins, Smiley gets stuck in between the ladder and a few rocks, making the quest impossible to complete.

I do like the overall layout of the caves so far. It feels a lot more naturally formed then the original version.

I do however think you may have misjudged the difficulty of it. The Toxic Caves are supposed to be a low-level quest, and as such designed for lower-level characters. Having 2 Tough Golden Geckos seems like a bit much for low-level characters. Golden Geckos however seem just the right level of challenge.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I've found a bug with the jammed door in the airlock and I'm trying to sort it out (will post a new version when it is fixed).

I don't get the camera starting in the middle of the room. This is obviously a bug, but on my side it doesn't show up :-( I don't know what could be the cause of it.

There is supposed to be only 1 Tough Golden Gecko and one Tough Lil Gecko. I should probably move the Tough Golden Gecko to somewhere else on the map, so that you don't need to fight him to reach Smiley. (edit: found the second Tough Golden Gecko, replaced him)

In total, the difficulty of the Toxic Caves has gone up a bit, although my intentions were/are to keep the difficulty of rescuing Smiley the same (except for that one Tough Lil Gecko, that replaced a (normal) Golden Gecko).

I'll see if I can get smiley stuck as well and will fix it.

Thanks for the feedback! please keep it coming.

N.B. I'm still writing a holodisk that explains what happened, but it is not in the game yet.

Noticed another bug with the new version. Whenever I try to enter the Toxic Caves, instead of arriving at the entrance, I arrive in a completely blank area.
