Just read that he passed away on the 4th.

Wasn't a huge fan myself, but still, he was talented.

I honestly thought for a moment this was a joke, but what a shame.

May not have read his books but it led to the first Jurassic Park movie.

Man, Michael Crichton was the first sci-fi author I ever read. Well, shit.

andromeda strain was kinda cool.

Still it sucks. Too bad we will probably never see a decent adaptation of timeline.(you know, one without Paul Walker)

You suck at sci-fi books, man.

Read some Philip K. Dick and Stanislaw Lem you illiterate, burger chompin' gringo. You might also find Arthur C. Clarke and William Gibson interesting.

Or how about reading som good sci-fi such as H.G Wells and Jules Verne.

Crichton wasn't sci-fi at all. Maybe Westworld.

My two favorites of his, Great Train Robbery and Eaters of the Dead, were historical fiction.

You clearly wrote "EVER read". Apologetic, illiterate burger chompin' gringo.

Are you implying Lem's work isn't "good" sci-fi?

I liked Crichton's books, so it's sad to see him go.

Personally, I was never really into his heavier sci-fi books. I liked The Rising Sun, Disclosure, and probably Sphere.

Crichton's books are not consider a sci-fi work, rather, more like sci-fi thriller.
I was shocked after reading Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World. IMO, the books are better than the movies and I hate how Steven Spielberg 'romanticize' the movie. :?
