Mission 10 (Jefferson City) corrupted?

I recently ran into this problem at mission 10, Jefferson City (where you need to destroy the generators, fight mutants, and get some small buggy car to do it with.)

The problem I,m running into is when panning across the screen (the middlish area I come across some tile the game refuses to redner and then crashes to desk top with the following error:

AppName: ft tools.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: ft tools.exe
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00334caa

I tried loading the map in the level editor to see if I could fix the problem but it crashes there as well. ((in the fallout editor it is down and left of grid location 1691 )

I've checked for corrupted files with win rar and come up clean.

I even reinstalled the game and patch 1.27 and it didn't help.

At this point I'm hoping someone here can upload their copy of mission 10 so I can play without crashing to desktop when I happen to mouse over this area? (Or tell me how to fix it?)

Which OS are you using? Are you using any mods? I've had it happens once, (not in Jefferson, in quincy) turned out there was a problem with my video driver. If you un-installed and re-installed, it's more likely to be a small problem with your discs.

Currently I'm using XP sp2 for my OS and running a NIvidia 9600 GSO PCI-X card.

I've found this happens with a fresh install of the game with no mods, on both this machine, and an older one.

I agree it's probably a problem with my discs, meaning I could really use someone else's copy of mission 10 to get around this headache.

Well, I'd love to send you mine - played through it not 2 hours ago. But I have no idea where it's located. It's not in the campaign folder. I you know where it is, you can have it.

Yes this is thread necro, but I figured anyone else that runs into this issue will appreciate me posting back with my results attempting to fix this and my ultimate solution.

IN short, it wasn't a corrupted mission 10 save, it was one of the other core game files that rendered sprites (spr=character_ab.bos) that was corrupted ont he disk itself and thus Non-repairable.

My only resolve was to simply rebuy the game off Steam for all of $9.99.

In short if you run into issues with corrupted game files on your cd, just snag it off steam and save yourself several hours worth of headaches and bug hunting.
