Mr House or Yes Man?

Atomic Postman

Vault Archives Overseer
I'm caught between the two.

Mr House seems like a good option, but people have told me his a dictator, and has parallels to Big Brother.

Yes Man seems like a good option, but, it seems The Wasteland turns to anarchy and the Courier doesn't seem to get control, as implied by the ending.

So, who should I side with?

He is dictator, but not Big Brother, he don't want complete control over everything.

Anarchy happens only if you gonna destroy securitron vault.

Basically, it is your game, your exprience, choose it yourself.

Side with whoever you want. You're not really getting everything out of the game anyways if you only play through it once.

Personally, I kill House on every play, but it's your game in the end, so do what you want.

Oh, no, I've played through it numerous times as Independent and NCR, my last playthrough was House, and this playthrough, I've come to a point where I can't decide, and I wanted to see the pros and cons.

House:

- Bright future under the stewardship and leadership of a pre-War genius.
- Solid political and economic plan for Vegas.
- Lassez faire approach.
- No interest in infringing on anyone's rights.
- Emergence of a neutral superpower in the Mojave.

Independent:

- Everything depends on your Courier and their plans.
- May end up with a lack of a solid, central authority figure, be it a dictator or a council.
- No solid plan like House.
- Lack of over two centuries of wisdom and knowledge.

Basically, it entirely depends on what the Courier plans to do.

You seemed to have left out the fact that House turns New Vegas into a police state.

From the wiki:

"Mr. House continued to run New Vegas his way, a despotic vision of pre-War glory. The streets were orderly, efficient, cold."

Of course, everything still depends on the Courier's karma and actions.

I personally prefer House and Independent over Caesar and NCR.

Between Mr. House and Yes Man are difficult choices. Although it may seem moral to go with Yes Man especially with the hippie Arcade Gannon (he is also anti-American) nagging you on the entire game (if you got him as your follower) to make the right choices.

SPOILERS - DO NOT READ AHEAD IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE GAME:

Mr. House shows some promise, firstly coming from a pure state of humanity, with still clean and pure DNA. He is still human and therefore may have some potential to do better for humankind (even though there are barely any humans present in the game). Unfortunately in the end, I concluded that his purpose was just to make profit, fame and overall provide sinful outlets to mutated sacks of skin.

I would personally go with Yes Man, as then you can be in control of the fate of New Vegas, do NOT destroy the machines being stored underneath the Legion's Fort. As for the Legion, they may be a lesser enemy compared to the NCR, but their still mutants. As for the New California Republic....er..no.

Ehh, I hate those Enclave trolls.

If you wanna roleplay specific person, do it there:

I'm sorry if you see it that way, I was not intending to appear as an "Enclave troll". Regardless, I was just stating my opinion on it, I already know how you feel about the Enclave.

Always Faithful.

No, you just wasn't stating opinion but roleplaying Enclave vision on specific subject, what is completely pointless.

How was I roleplaying? I was only taking the role of my own self (including my opinions). I support the Enclave vision in the Fallout series, but I was simply stating that I would prefer to go with Yes Man and gave the reasons why. Of course I was referring to a specific subject as this thread is about a specific subject, Yes Man or Mr. House.

You see it as pointless? Such a shame, doesn't make a difference though, and neither does my opinions.

Well...there was all that stuff about impurity and mutation and what not.

Absolutely, I was only stating the reasons why I chose to go with Yes Man, I could just say "just cause", but that wouldn't be stating the reasons now would it?

For House....
It seems like he doesn't take care of other places but only strip. so... I don't think he is ideal leader of mojave.

NCR looks better... but thier cost of army will dry whole mojave.
If the war between Legion ends and reduce army, NCR would be good choice.

For Courier, if he or she done well, every things seems okay.. but it seems like Courier will travel west with ED-E and Lilly.
So it would be matter of Yesman.

I really doubt about independent of Vegas. for Westside, they need independent since they already produce foods and lots of things by themselves. but for north vegas square and freeside? I doubt it.

House is always such a deuce to me and so far I've never resisted the urge to unplug him and just leave him there. I played my cards once so that NCR dominated and a few times so that Yes Man becomes my personal pocket calendar

Well why don't you try a legion playthrough for once. I know what everyone says about them, but you would be suprised.

Yeah, I'm playing legion, and its actually a lot of fun. The NCR gives a much better fight, for one thing.

All I can remember very well about the Legion is when I executed Benny at the Fort, all I heard was every single NPC around me saying "A FAIR KILL" in complete unison.
