Mutants Rising update

Looks good. Don't like the car because I simply don't like cars in the Fallout setting, but well-designed nevertheless.

Looks like it's mag lev, notice the red lights on the rail and the funky things in place of wheels?

Don't be daft, man. There are no red lights, those are the metal thingimajigs that keep the rails in place (connected to the wooden beams).

I traveled a lot with train and have been on many train stations. Neither one of them had a sidewalk and/or an asphalt road going directly into railroad, stopping there and continuing on the other side. It has little to do with common sense so it should be addressed
That depends, actually. I know some trainstations that are not much more than a block of concrete with a bench on it. Depends where you live, I guess, but rails crossing asphalt do exist. I've seen worse RL situations than what you see on that screenshot, actually.

Yes, I'm aware about railroads crossing roads but this was described as a train station specifically. Every train station has some form of common order, no matter how bad it is. The railroad goes here, the sidewalk goes next to it, the station building's over there, the parking is in the back, etc.
Anyway, you know what I mean. :D

Weren't renders of it posted somewhere in the modding subforum?
I only posted one WIPie taken from totally different perspective...

As for the car: rear looks in this way, because you can't enter to it in normal way (there's no doors from the sides! :o ), so the only way is to get there from the back. Also, more people can be transported, because inside there's only place for two. So the rest is standing like in damn Chariot! :D

(do you remember Van Buren concept art?)
Sure I do - it's a holy stuff. A classics!!1

It's actually your work, that raider-friendly piece of shit? I'd say so because of very good conversion.

Also, I've left you message at BGE forums, please have a look when possible. You'll be excited about, really. Or maybe not. :D

I think I have to barter it with Chris ASAP. This moving wreck might fit into my plans very well.

Hey! You have MUCH more art than us and more artists. Get the Wip cracking on them :D

After all, we need some unique art for MR :D

I live near railroad tracks and can assure you that those are not there so I made a guess about what they were. If they're supposed to be spikes then I don't see it (and I've never seen red ones) but I guess that could just be due to the poor quality of the screen cap.

Thanks. I still think that they are too bright red but I think you're right about what they are so I'd suggest maybe making them blend in with the rails better by being the same colour.

That's my fault. I've had a hectic summer and not had time to do everything I wanted to do. I chose to work on the mod rather than spend time on the website. I'll do a better job in future.
Sorry, I think my feedback was a bit misinterpreted :-)

I wouldn't call it anyone's fault, especially as this is a fanmade project and you're working for free to give the fans what they're looking for. You invest your free time for us and I'm quite happy that you joined MR as the project seems to have improved under your involvement.

Maybe you should find a kind of PR manager who does the news updates for you so that you can focus on other tasks Chris?

You guys should make an online database to store all the new art to share with other modders giving them more to work with making the engine more versatile.

I wrote my reply rather quickly. I was just pointing out that I had little time so rather than update the website with virtually no information, I just cracked on with scripting. :D

It would be great to have a PR manager, but we have very few people working anyway so we can't really spare anyone. Besides, we are very close to just having scripting left!!

Why? To generate dozens of equal-looking mods?

I completely underline this statement:

After all, we need some unique art for MR

If you really dive into modding, you are able to create art yourself. Read: If you can't, you have to learn how. That's what modding is about.

Don't get that wrong: Sharing some art after a mod has been established, is cool. But 'cannibalizing' mods because of their content isn't IMO.

@MR team

Keep up the good work!

Agree.

You can create a good looking scenery without any uber modeling/texturing/lighting/rendering skills because of past-gen 2d engine. And I'm sure that you'll find a help or tips, here, at modding forum.

---------------------------------------EDIT

As for "cannibalizing" (:D) thing: a lot of art is unique and will only fit into specific location(s). In other words: will be totally useless for any other mod(s).

omigod this game is goin to be teh shite, bethesdas fallout3 will be so much better!!11!

But on a more serius note, I want a mention in the "previus members worth mentioning" part on the new website :falloutonline:

whoa, missed out on this with my trip to brcelona!
anyway, lots of different stuff about the train going on here.

1. just to make things clear, its absolutely a work in progress.

2. the railroad is just a quick fix-up... not going to stay like that.

3. The art in question is just the train... the background is a random desert encounter... location is not done yet.

3. there is supposed to be a whole bunch of train engines/wagons/cars and different scenery... unfortunately, i took this thing on me in the summer with lots of spare time... not sure i can finish it in the same size as initially planned though.
so far ive done another engine but kind of stuck with my real work for the moment

4.thats definitely not the final going into the game.
