I did the ranger mission where you kill the slavers in the north and I joined them. Now that I'm in the rangers, is there anything I can do with the map or decoder ring? Any more ranger missions to access anyhow? When I meet rangers attacking slavers in the wastes, after the rangers kill the slavers, they kill me. Is that a bug, or am I just in the wrong place?

no extra missions that I know of. You could get a little more respect from the sherff in redding if you didnt do his quests before.

You have to force your way into the slavers' "compound", then I think you use "repair" or some other skill on these thin red-ish computer-ish things that are next to each set of cages.
