Hey guys,

I need assistance from you with a class assignment. I'm a doing a very short study of phenomena of Internet forum use, and I need participants for a brief, five-minute (at most) task. I only need about a dozen people, though 15 or 16 would be perfect. If you're a native English speaker and interested in helping out, please PM me.

Thanks,

Ratty

Thanks everyone who PM'd me and took part in the study. But guess what, we're not done yet. I'd also like to invite people to participiate in a little survey. Don't worry, this survey is open to everyone, including non-native English speakers. Feel free to either PM me your responses, or simply post them in this thread.

Not sure I understand question 8... If it requires services, then it's not a bot ?

Here you go.
I also find question 8 to be a bit confusing. I've responded to my best interpretation of it.

Thanks, guys. Keep 'em coming!

Oh, and in question 8, I meant "solicit" in the sense of "peddle", i.e. try to sell. Though now that I think about it, "solicit", when used with object, means pretty much the opposite. Curse my inadequate grasp of English! Oh well, sorry about that. It should be fixed now.

Thanks Serge!

I could still use a few more participants, so anyone considering doing the survey is more than welcome to do so.

Will you be posting your results?

Hello again, guys,

I know I'm probably getting on everybody's nerves by now with my experiments and surveys, but could I trouble you to take the revised version of my previous survey? Turns out the previous survey didn't have enough power to measure what I was interested in, so I've come up with an expanded one. I took the time to implement this one as a nifty Google Docs form, so it should be much more convenient for you guys. Here is the link:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...mkey=dDZQY3lVbThRZTVZQVg3SDBmSVVvbGc6MQ#gid=0

Since my class assignment is due late tomorrow, I will be tremendously grateful to everyone who takes this survey over the next 24 hours. I will even post a partially nude picture of myself if that's what you want (seriously).

Thanks again, and sorry about the unending stream of requests.

Done...

Doesn't your question about hypocrisy defeat somehow the whole point of the survey ?

As I once did a summer job doing this, and if it ain''t too late.

1) 2 (I'm Just a real cynic)
2) 3 (Look at their track record)
3) 3 (People can just create a new one)
4) 3
5) 2
6) 2
7) 2 (Or a variant of the RL in which is most 'acceptible'. Some of us have dark secrets which they don't want people to know about. Also some of us have developed an avatar to protect our RL persons from fraud etc.)
8) 1
9) 2 (Particulary if they don't provide evidence)
10) 2 (Or an invasion from another site. I have seen it before)
11) 4-7 (Though not really regular. I don't need to hear the sound of my own voice.)
12) 1999 (For interest, it was CivFanatics)
13) Male
14) Yes

Sorry, I didn't see the revised one.
