New Vegas features in the Official XBox Magazine in February

Man, you came off as a bit elitist. "Ha ha, only retards read OXM! I'm so special because I don't!" They're an alright magazine. Not great, but not horrible. I prefered EGM until it was canceled.
OXM is garbage, consistently rating games higher than the industry average. Hell, they have an 11 score so that they can justify giving out as many 10's as they do. Also, both them and their parent are dicks.

Certainly, name recognition is part of the reason that they'd do it, which is why I brought up the Metroid Prime example.
Retro Studios is wholly owned by Nintendo so it's a fine example for Metroid Prime but not for any of the sequels (they were bought between games). Also, it was Retro Games first game whereas Obsidian has made a number of games before this, with NWN2 and KotORII doing well, though I believe that the name pushed on both was Bioware. It's not a new thing but it's dishonest regardless.

Was going to ask if that magazine was for retards, but then I saw xbox.

What a horrible shop job.

Well I guess one can blame those sites for the rating-inflation one can see with games

I'm so hoping this will be an even bigger hit than Fallout 3 and all these people will realize other studio can make better rpg's than Bethesda. or Beth will still get credit for it, I guess...

either way, I'm looking forward to the game but I'm getting bad vibes already.

It's a magazine owned by a game company, what the fuck are you smoking? Where the hell do they have any kind of credibility?

Judging solely from the cover, I'm willing to bet they don't have any info at all. This is just a ploy to make others believe that their magazine was first.

nope, just a badly shopped picture.

It's not shopped, it's radiation. You know how it makes things huge. And green. The tint on the background suggest astronomical amounts of radiation. Lots of feral ghouls and huge motherfucking critters to be expected. This time it's going to be deadly serious, and surely the gangs and all the immoral activity in the city itself isn't going to help. If I were a Lone Wanderer, I wouldn't even give a gaze towards the direction of New Vegas and instead would start searching a spaceship to live on. New Vegas is only for the most bravest and toughest inviduals, are you a man enough for the challenge? I might not get a girlfriend while hiding in my spaceship, but at least I'm not GAMBLING with my life. I'm going to say this just once so pay attention - You are not welcomed to New Vegas...

For those who won't stand for blatant site whoring like that, the editor said that naming Bethesda was intentional, then went on to call KoC a giant site whorer.

Just a bit? I have to try harder next time.

Actually, calling DA an EA game is even more appropriate given that BioWare is owned by EA.

Yeah, but the fact that they all called it Bioware's Dragon Age is because Bioware is a well known RPG developer. Heck, imagine what people would have thought of it if it had been introduced as "the latest RPG to come from EA"...

Bethesda is cited because it’s the publisher, and because it’s the better known of the two companies

The fact that it is the publisher is the excuse, not the reason. Oh well, I suppose they'll be the ones looking stupid when their readers open the first page and see that the game is in fact not Bethesda's.

It's a bad photoshop alright, but since when is that of any relevance? I think the news this magazine brings about Fallout New Vegas (if it does tell us anything new) is more important than a quick cover mock-up.

1) Like many people said, Brink was also announced as a Bethesda game, just like a lot of other games developed by a relatively unknown developer and published by a very popular company (talking about general public, of course).

2) OXM is an alright magazine. I used to receive it as a result of a GameCrazy discount deal. The reviews are an absolute joke that don't even deserve a reading but there is some fun content in there: some decent interviews, random gaming news, a few fun articles on the industry, and some inside info directly from M$. If you own an xbox or even a gaming PC and you can get OXM for free then do so, but not under any other circumstances. I might get this issue though.
