It's known from set photos of the Strip it'll be shown in 3 phases - prewar, then a lively Vegas at the start of season 2 (2297) and then damaged in a skirmish later where of all things, a deathclaw gets in, which for those who've followed the filming isn't too surprising as someone took a pic of a deathclaw warning sign at the Strip gate. Maybe disappointing, but long term it tracks with a loading screen message "Despite the best efforts of well-equipped hunters, deathclaws continue to establish nests across the Mojave." Despite how the Strip looks in this latest batch of photos, that's what they actually show, so I'm less concerned, altho I've been pretty optimistic about season 2 despite the contentious story decisions for the 1st. Vegas is almost certainly still intact given other videos showing the Strip gate entrance in its postwar state fully illuminated at night next to the characteristic lightshow of the Lucky 38 sign. Actors were supposedly spotted arriving on the "clean" set, before it was distressed for the 3rd phase, so in all, good news, and altho this is just my opinion, despite the 1st season, I truly doubted the writers would be as wholly uncreative as to turn New Vegas into a ghost town.
