Nuka Break Episode 1 released on Youtube

Is it just me, or is the incompentent raiders schtick from the first one? I only watched it once, so I don't remember much.

Yeah, it also ended with a fight against raiders, and say I am expecting too much, but I would have preferred if they would have done a little low key adventure, like they go around the Goodsprings zone and do character interaction instead of fighting some random raiders at the end, but then again is a comedic video.

The setting is instantly about a thousand times more like Fallout.

That said, the humour is still kind of forced (though fewer "ha-ha, it's Fallout 3!" references), and the "random hot chick following fat loser around" still bothers me, though maybe that's just some sort of stealth commentary on comedy tropes or something.

I think it had to do with him helping her escape from raiders or something. I can't remember though.

In defense of this video and the previous one: In fallout 3 and New Vegas (The original inspiration for both videos) there is a lot of fights with raiders.

No kidding. I can't swing a dead molerat without hitting a raider. Some people are reacting as if the raider fight were the "end" of the story. According to Zack Finfrock this series will follow a continuous story arc and he plans to cut all the episodes together into a single movie when he's done. This is just the first part of an ongoing story. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Regarding "Scar" following Twig around; she's an escaped slave. She travels with those two clowns because they won't try to take her back to the slavers, although I'm not too sure about Ben the ghoul. In the original short film they helped her fight off some guys who tried to recapture her.

Okay, the "vault boy" is naive and not exactly the most handsome guy in the wasteland... Instead, maybe she (hot chick) finds that his innocence and humor will let people drop their guard around him while the ghoul picks their pockets and she moves into a sniper position.
Also, since "vault boy" is fresh out of the basement, he is likely disease free. And even though he is not so good looking, his genetic material might fetch a fair dollar from the right buyer. Think about it, what might the Enclave or Brotherhood pay for clean genetic material?

In a worse case scenario, this could turn into a Regular guy/Hot chick thing. Kevin James, Mike Myers, Ray Romano, Seth Rogan, and ETC, made a living doing just that.

Pretty decent stuff. I liked the props, and the acting was somewhat fair. Not the best thing I've seen, but I'd still like to see the next episode once it comes out.

Eh, it is what it is - a chubby vault dweller and clean lady with poorly done ghoul costume.

But, it's better then before. That's important. Good luck.

And more dirty cloths and adult themes - the fucking world ended for fucks sake, don't try to sell me some retarded hollywood shit.

all in all pleasantly surprised:) Usually it's all shit;)

That was pretty awesome. Great effort and cannot wait to see more. Love kickstarter for getting projects like these off the ground.

I don't see how this is an improvement over the first one, which already was horrible. It's all wannabe hollywood crap mixed with "lol a reference!" in the most obvious way.

Since when is Fallout about such stuff. :?

Don't remind me about the mine. That should have blown his legs off. Am I the only one who remembers tactics?

The dialogue was so bland, stretched and empty my ears started to bleed. Same happened when I heard that guy singing in Junktown.

I loved the cockroach at the beginning and the Fallout things overall.

But I hated everything in the dialogues and the behavior of the characters. It was too unrealistic and unserious (not in a Fallout way). What happened after he talked to the raiders was really bad. Everyone should be way more serious when it's a life and death situation. They should've been overly rude (or at least, their leader). I only watched parts of the video because I really hated that unseriousness in so serious situations, but there were other things I hated.

Please have in mind that I don't like the Hollywood productions (I kind of do, but I hate many of the things they have). I'm definitely different from most of the audience. Anyway, IMO it should've been deeper to meet the standards of the Fallout 1 and 2 audience. But, judging from the comments and the people who said they like it, I think it's good for the Fallout 3 and F:NV fans.

I happen to have a snippet from Bethesda giving them "permission" to use so many likenesses.

Bethesda: "You have permission to make a short about Fallout and use the name. But you can't mention anything Fallout. This includes but is not limited to pizza delivery sign boys that might resemble Vault Boy, er, Pip Boy, uh..the cute one everyone knows. But you have to or it won't be considered a Fallout short film without such references that you are now under obligation to make so if it doesn't then you will have defaulted on your contract, and we will be permitted to shut down your project and use your assets.
And we will consider any short film you make to be in violation of our own rights to make our own Fallout full length feature film. And under no circumstances are you to use the word "Scroll" or "Scrolls" anywhere on or off camera for purposes of this short film before or after production.
