OH , i soo much want to believe its finally Fallout

We already know Obsidian are working on Pillars of Eternity 2 and Apocalypse now, I don't think they can afford to work on a third project in the same time.

For a second there I thought it was another bot.
Anyway, meh.

Secret projects are meaningless to me cause, well, they secret. Until I know what it is I don't care as it may as well not even exist in my eyes.

I dont know , i just read that on Obsidian post , it says " currently very busy "so it means present time and its secret so its not Pillars 2 nor Apocalypse . How, why i dont know, but it says what it says :)

Yes they can, we know Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky have been working on this secret project some time. Well, I know that anyway. Mostly from threads on the Codex, I think.
But nothing is really known about it. Speculation is that it might be something World Of Darkness, e.g. continuation of Bloodlines. And I think people are speculating that it's based on the Unreal engine or something based on job-postings.

Also, Obsidian isn't working on Apocalypse Now. JESawyer is helping and ML Markland is ex-Obsidian, but apart from that they don't have anything to do with it.
(also also, the kickstarter is probably gonna fail and if they had been working on it for a while, they'd probably have more to show for it)

@Feargus
Who owns Arcanum rights? It is too sad if there is no chance to see a sequel.

Activision/Blizzard owns them, and we have talked to them many times about acquiring them, but they are not interested in giving them up - or licensing it to us.

@Icelander - I'm due for another poke of Activision to see if they are interested in talking about it.

@Icelander - It wouldn't hurt.

So definitely not Arcanum.
Once more for posterity:

THINGS THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO BE:
  • FALLOUT
  • ARCANUM

edit: oh, and if you want to feel like you're helping there's this thing: https://www.change.org/p/ir-activis...ease-the-arcanum-ip-to-obsidian-entertainment
as usual with online petitions, this probably won't do anything at all

They had a job announcement for character artist with knowledge of human anatomy at some point (don't know if it is still open).

Perhaps it actually is that David Lynch/Cronenberg style 18+ version of Zootopia with beefed up gameplay from the B.A.T. series of old I once suggested. :D

(Yeah, it won't be that, but it would be fun if it was.)

Even if it isn't a known franchise, the guys already cooked Fallout and Arcanum. They can potentially cook a new franchise just as good. (that will soon be bought by EA or Bethesda as well...)

Past years have shown that being a "name of the past" in the industry isn't a guarantee of anything at present. For example, MCA hasn't done anything of note since... what, Kotor 2, and is now freelancering for a couple of shooters (one of which is a rewrite of someone elses past work).

Be wary of expecting anything of note even if it is Tim Cain we're talking about.

hope so, I dont have interest in vampires.

I have yet to be disapointed by a game he had a lot of involvement.
(don't think he was ever actually lead of something beside Planescape Torment or Dead Money)

In case people care... According to Anthony Davis (in the Codex) this game can now be called project Indiana for the time being.
