Old(er) games that deserve a remake/sequel

done properly of course:

Quarantine
Strife
Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri
Sam & Max (Goddamn you to hell, Lucasarts!)
Bloodnet
Beneath a Steel Sky

And many others I can't think of right now.
How about you?

If I remember correctly, there is a Quarantine 2 (although still pretty old). Unfortunately, there's no way the censorship nazis will let through a quarantine 3.

How about a half-decent Wing Commander?

Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

Those dime a dozen 2 dollar floppy disk D&D computer games from the 80's. Champions of Krynn comes to mind, heh

Yes, remake Sam and Max

More as I think of them.

I thought about putting Alpha Centauri there (I'm playing it right now) but then I remembered that Civilisation 4 is coming soon.

Also :

Elite
A new Gabriel Knight
System shock (hopefully Bioshock is coming soon)
Duke Nukem 3D (go ahead, mock me)

More soon.

I don't like comparing the Civ series to Alpha Centauri. While both are nominally about building a society, I preferred Alpha Centauri as it allowed for a much more...enjoyable system of political intrigue. I felt more involved, debating the merits of a "Green" economy with the Deidre, or else completely crushing those pesky Believers with targeted missile strikes.

Earthbound
Streets of Rage
Zombies ate my neighbors
Double Dragon
Battletoads
Wizards and warriors

They PLANNED for an Earthbound 64, but never followed through.

Streets of rage, good choice.

Zombies was a BAD game :s

Double Dragon and Battletoads was made

Don't know anything on W&W

Lords of Midnight, I know some converted it to the pc and is now converting it to windows, but I'd love to see the original game and it's sequel remade and updated.

A new Gabriel Knight would be great as long as Tim Curry still does the voice.
I also would love some sort of 3d version of the game Sanitarium..
that was a creepy ass game.
And all those great old text games from Infocom I used to play on the apple 2e.

"open window"
"you can't see the window"
"look"
"you see a house with a window"
"go to window"
"You can't see the window"
"go North"
"you are in a large grassy field"
"go south"
"You see a house with a window"
"throw stone at house"
"do not understand word "stone"."
"KILL HOUSE"
"do not understand command "KIll"."
"F**** YOU"
"There is no need to use that language"

Good times,,,,,,,,good times.

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel really deserves a sequel. It's such a shame F:BOS 2 was canned.

That's so damn recognizable.

System Shock
Archimedean Dynasty
Kronolog: Nazi Paradox
Wasteland
Fountain of Dreams

Oh, and consider Fallout to be one. Not for us, for our future offspring!

I have much respect for mr. Grizzly.

They are making a "spiritual successor" to SS, goes by the name of Bioshock. But the SS series is dead.

Archimedean Dynasty... now THERE is a trip down memory lane. I loved that game, the setting, gameplay, story... Especially the nifty in-mission chats between the ships.

Blood and Shaddow Warrior
There is Blood 2. I have played a demo and it's a pretty good game for its time. The graphics r cool and so is the main character.

I would love to see Shadowrun remade, it was a great SNES RPG that could compete with some PC ones.

I am new here so I don't know if you're joking, are you?

Never played Quarantine or Terra Nova. But Bloodnet and Beneath a Steal Sky are tops in my book. Also Strife, but to a lesser extent than the previous two.

Wing Commander would be good. The D&D games you rae referring to are the Gold Box games. Those would be good candidates as well.

Never played any IF on the AppleII, but played many on my C64. And your little rundown seems very familiar, and was also damned funny.

That would be cool. I loved Shadowrun on both the SNES and the Genesis. I heard rumors that there may have been plans for a Shadowrun on the Xbox, or that Microsoft owned the Shadowrun license, or something like that. But if that is the case i wouldn't count on it being any good.

I would like to see:

Wasteland, Fountain of Dreams, and System Shock (as has already been mentioned).

The Bard's Tale. The REAL Bard's Tale. Not another shitty action game like that one that was recently released on the Xbrick.

Ultima 9 and Might & Magic 9. They could make them actual RPG's this time!!!

Battletech
Roadwar & Roadwar Europa
Dreamweb
Hard Nova
Circuit's Edge
Both of the B.A.T games.

I'm sure i could think of lots more. So mahy great games. They don't make them like they used too.

Of course this is all wishful thinking. God forbid someone did do a remake of one of these classics, and completely ruined it. Our fond memories would all be ruined!

It's nice to think about though.
