PC Gamer welcomes our new Roman overlords... back?

I feel it is more likely that Bethesda want to do New York next.

you know, i was thinking (fearing) the same thing. i mean, they'd have to do little asset changes from "fallout" 3. and i know those lazy bitches would love that.

hopefully todd howard doesn't visit this sight or he'll start "brain"-storming about this soon. and if he does, todd, me and you... high noon. i got a bone to pick with you.

If you re-use your already created content, you will have more time to concentrate on more important parts of the game. Not that I think that Bethesda would get that right as well... But to imply, that a new game needs 100% new artwork over and over again, is just bleh and a waste of resources in my opinion.

my bet that FO4 will use the rage engine so they might go back to the west coast, arizona for example...

It's the general attitude and it's such a waste. Do you know how much went into the creation of the main character of Assassin's Creed? And the model basically gets dumped after one game (though I'd think they recycled bits for AC2). Shit like the dragons in Dragon Age: Origins costs so much to make, yet gets dumped way too fast. It's part of the reason this industry is as graphics/big money focuses as it is.

making the 3D models dont take that much, plus they dont scrap everything, the basic motion captures stays you just add some new ones, all and all ill say it takes much less time money and effort than it used to be.

It wasn't really the graphics what I meant Lexx, sorry if I did give that impression.

I meant more the lack of imagination of building a real interesting setting, instead going with what has been done before almost completely.

I feel the location would be loads of city block 'corridors', connected to each other by metro stations, with random locations with one or two inhabitants here and there, without any in game explanation why these people are living here or how they keep themselves alive.

It's a known fact that Obsidian wanted to do another location, but Bethesda had already had plans for it,so they chose Las Vegas.I doubt they were force into anything.

crap, i didn't know that... but i do live under a rock. what location did they want to do?

I didn't know that either. I'd guess Denver would've been their first choice then unless the fallback on Van Buren came after their initial choice was rejected.

Either way it doesn't absolve Obsidian of the blame for turning New Vegas into an untouched, technologically advanced resort town with gambling and 50s themed entertainment.

yeah, if the assets are good, keep them. and if your team can add to it and improve the quality of the games using it. but... bethesda has proven they cannot do this.

I can only imagine a Fallout set in New York. Lots of blocked streets, tons of metro crawls, and a host of other FO3 trademarks.

What's worse is that people will buy it and praise it as GoTY.
