Ant-i informs us that PCGamer UK has announced they're covering Fallout 3 in the next issue, coming out this Thursday:
Bethesda have finally broken their silence over their follow-up to the world-beating RPG Oblivion. And we were the first European mag to go over and have a look at Fallout 3, so it's splashed all over our new issue, which is out on Thursday.

So yeah, we got all the artwork, screenshots, info and details on how this post-apocalyptic, first-person RPG will play. We saw it in action. It is awesome. But far more importantly, we came back with some highly prized swag.

Briosafreak notes that the Official Playstation Magazine, out this Monday, even beats them to it:
This is the first proper gameplay info we've heard from the next-gen update to one of last millenium's most loved franchises. Given Bethesda's class and the intriguing sounding target-system, we're sure Fallout 3 will be just as successful as the developer's last smash hit, Oblivion - with both fans and newcomers.
Information also has it that it'll spread to other magazines once the exclusives clear, such as the German Gamestar next month.

I know that it does say "European" in the post, but I still find it confusing when I read "PCGamer" and you're referring to the UK edition...

I am of the firm belief that the UK PCGamer is run by total assholes.

Fixed?

They sure seem to be gobbling up the positive energy. You gotta be hella in denial to just go "this is pleasing fans!", as OPM puts it. The fan-pleasing RTwP system? The hell?

Nice circumventing PCZone, too.

We'll assume PCGamer's "Fallout 3 video" is just the trailer, by the way.

It hurts it hurts, it hurts! Where are the editorial gaming magazines? Where are the sections that actually debate the products integrity? Where is the free thought and expression? Why is it that a company can get away with murder and no one seems to care?

Edit: Oh wait... $ <-Thats why.

Liars. It's interesting that they say things like that without even checking the reactions of fans.

Why check with the real fans when they have a forum full of fanbois ready to suck down any garbage BS spews.

It seems Bethesda is primming all their favorite hype machines for FINO3. Totally pulling out all the stops. And just think this is just the beginning of all this crap.

I guess we should get used to the idea that there sooner or later will be a Fallout movie, because movies based on games is popular.

I don't think so, no just because it exists. Halo, one of the biggest game licenses around fell through. It was going to be made, but they couldn't get it started. How much more popular is Halo than, say, Oblivion? And do you think Fallout will be much more popular than Oblivion?

This game will suck a tremendous amount of balls, and the magazines will surely love it anyway. Both of these facts are truly sad indeed.

That said, I still want a Vault Tec lunchbox.

Great! More materials for the "Beth, the old hag" mod sequel. I was just loosing my inspiration, when this lobbying bunch came and saved my day.

We saw it in action. It is awesome.
I saw my grandma once in action too. It was awesome! Jeeeez!

I would even start a petition to force Bethseda to sell the Fallout License to the highst bidder..

Bethseda will pay for thier sins(and paying off magazines to write positive review is just one of them apperantly), dont worry what goes around comes around and I hope Wasteland 2 will come at em with a venegance.

Actually I don't think the games really have to be real smash hits to get converted to a movie. I mean of course popular games have better chance to become a movie, but not always. They're making a movie of Dungeon Siege, which in my opinion weren't really that popular. Not to mention Alone in the dark (for which they're planning to make a sequel even though the first movie wasn't a hit) and Postal. Comparing their popularity to Halo's, for example, they're not really that big licenses.

However I don't think they will make a movie out of Fallout. And if I ever will be wrong on this matter, I hope they keep it away from Uwe Boll's hands!

the hype machine just wont stop :) spotted this over at joystiq

sorry about the post - didnt realise it was on their blog until it was too late - on a side note - to me it seems each drawing beth does of the pipboy (and even the bobble head) are a bit off

I'm just surprised they kept the original Vault suit on Vault Boy and didn't update him to the "next-gen" version.
After all, it's a thing of the past.

Gamers magazines and exclusives.
I decided to write this replay because i just can not stand all the BS around "exclusives".
How do you think a magazine get his hands on "exclusive" material. Answer is simple, they are given the material, but they have to give something in return. That pretty much means, there will be no objective reviews about the game. We will hear all the usual BS, that the game will be awesome, that they love the fallout setting and that everyone will be happy, including fans.

Therefor i dont buy gamers magazines, because i know, they can not be objective.
