well if they weren't positive about their exclusives they would never get exclusive deals! it's sad to hear it coming from a "pc gaming" mag, i usted to read every issue of pcg.
but they go totally bananas over stuff like half-life 2, i remember them making it number1 in a "100 greatest games EVER" article.

Gamers magazines and exclusives.
I decided to write this replay because i just can not stand all the BS around "exclusives".
How do you think a magazine get his hands on "exclusive" material. Answer is simple, they are given the material, but they have to give something in return. That pretty much means, there will be no objective reviews about the game. We will hear all the usual BS, that the game will be awesome, that they love the fallout setting and that everyone will be happy, including fans.

Therefor i dont buy gamers magazines, because i know, they can not be objective.

The gaming reviews put out in modern gaming dont really amount to anything more than marketing materials anymore. The second a magazine starts writing objective, unbiased articles that are ever critical of a company is the second that they a. stop getting exclusives because the company might view them as too much of risk to let them cover their game when they can just go with a sure thing and b. they potentially lose all future business with that publisher because of the negative reviews.
Lest we forget that positive reviews equate to advertising revenue generated from that particular product and the company's other offerings. I bet the companies even have input into what the article contains and even final review before the article even sees a printing press. The whole thing seems like it's inherently flawed. My $.02

Anybody noticed that they mention artwork, screenshots and gameplay info as not being as important as cheap merch ?

So yeah, we got all the artwork, screenshots, info and details on how this post-apocalyptic, first-person RPG will play. We saw it in action.
