Perception checks @ dialogue options in old series

First time out of the vault
Hi, guys.
I was reading forum from long time ago, but it's my first post here.
So. According to The Vault, Perception may affect some dialogue options in old series. I was suprised a bit reading this, cause across whole that time i was pretty sure that only Intelligence and Charisma influence on dialogue options in Oldones. So if you guys know about some Perception checks in dialogue options in FO1/FO2, please let me know below here.

Regards.

As for F2, there are some of them:
- sharpened spear (Mynoc, Arroyo)
- missing boy (Balthas, Modoc)
I'm quite sure you need at least PE 6 to get those.

I don't recall dialogs being limited by charisma/intelligence only.

I am pretty sure some skills & perks would affect them too. (i remember some specific dialogs with doctor, if you are one, yourself)

I never modded dialogs, but i think you can use every possible variable to affect dialog, providing you mention them in the script, so there is no reason to limit it to one or two factors only. (considering gender, reputation, karma, progress in quests, special status are considered too, perception seems a non issue)

Well. Different char stats and other factors, such as karma or things like carrying drugs can really make a difference in gameplay. Thats a fact I didnt get in my mind when I was posting this topic. But on the other hand what really interests me is do char stats can make a difference in a regular dialogue? I mean does it makes a difference how many and what kind of information i can get from NPC depending on my char stats, other than IN and CH/Speech?

Can't say about stats, but several skills like science and doctor affect dialogues in New Reno and Vault City for example.

Yea, if I remember well, informations you can get from Myron about Jet dpend on science and doctor skills.
But back to PE stat. On The Vault they wrote it may open new dialogue options. And Im not sure what that really means. Its just about you can or can't take some quests based on PE from NPCs, or it works similarly to IN and determines dialogue options in general. For second option appeals fact that Empathy perk is based on PE and IN and even more on PE than IN. And that what suprises me at most. You can figure out from that (if that scenario is correct) they stack in PE together environmenatl perception (determining Outdoorsman) and emotional perception (determining relations with others). And that would suck to me 'cause to get maximum spectrum of relations with NPCs, you would need to create goddamn last boy scout char, not just brilliant and charismatic char. Couldnt they separate emo. per. from environ. per. and make it as another stat? Or part IN on figuring out int. (which IN actually is) and emotional int.? (But that wouldnt be SPECIAL any more :-)) 'Cause emo. per. have so much common with environ. per. as school rubber with condom... With call them both rubber. But its just my thoughts 'cause im not sure if PE rally works like that. Maybe its just first option, but what about Empathy perk then?
What you guys think about that? Do any of you noticed more interactions (mainly more dialogue options) with NPCs playing high PE char?
Its interesting thing I think, worth to look closer at it.

Valcik actually gave two examples of how PE influences dialogue: You can comment on Mynoc's spear and you can recognize the missing boy in Modoc.
There's also the radscorpion thing in Broken Hills. Vault City conversation about "slaves", another one about VC citizens' sterility, map locations inside the Vault. Several checks in Sierra Army Depot (/w computers)
The stuff in spoiler tags is from Per's guide.

So it seems second option is true. After all, first also 'cause some of that dialogue options lead to quests. And I suppose thats not all, even if you bear in mind that Per made probably the most spacious solutions to Fallouts (even he call them NEARLY ultimate guides :-)). So guys if you noticed more PE checks in dialogues, NPCs reactions and other actions, feel free to share your observations with us.
Anyway, as I thought they tied together environmental perception with emotional perception. And its most stupid thing about SPECIAL for me at this moment. Its like fusion of physical strength with psychical strength. And what sucks most about it - If you want to create defensive char to explore scenario, which you dont want to be goddamn trapper, and want to save as many stat points for IN and CH as possible, Perception unfortunately matters.
Ill read with a good grace what you guys think about that ill-fated "bug".
