Pip-boy App

Honest Question, how many of you are even using the Pipboy app? This goes even for those who like the game. Are you finding any use for it?

I still don't see the point of it, does it actually have a real time effect? Is it in any way better than just hitting Hotkeys (I guess if it works 100% it is automatically better than the hotkeys...) or just pausing the game with TAB?

I used it briefly. It does act as an extension of the game and will display data on the fly. As for other functions, I never tested any. What functions it can allow besides synced information are likely insubstantial when a direct input on the keyboard/controller will do the job better.

If the game was actually good, they definitely could have utilized it in unique ways. Like using it as alternate hacking device while showing your character hooking up wires between it and some electronic thing (i.e., like an electronic lock), while displaying whatever the puzzle is on the phone. Another idea would be to make that sort of thing real-time so interfacing doesn't just pause the rest of the game - make it in such a way that your character can still hold up a weapon in one hand, while you have to look down to the app to figure out the puzzle while occasionally looking back to your monitor to see if any enemies are coming, that sort of thing. More wasted potential?

I haven't bothered using it, I would be wasting more time looking away from my screen to look at a seperate screen just to manage stats, inventory, ect when I could use the hot keys to do the job faster without having to look away from the monitor.

My friend pre-ordered the pip boy edition, which I suppose would make it a bit more interesting.

If I wasn't playing on PC. Since I am, and am using M+KB, all that big piece of admittedly cool plastic does is make my restful position incredibly uncomfortable.

Also my phone doesn't fit in it. I'm okay with this as well.
